My EB3A overheats even in standard mode and could take up an hour before i can charge again. I have to use my Jackery now because in my usage I'm constantly charging and discharging. I almost threw the EB3A out the window because its almost useless to me with the constant overheating. How Bluetti ever sold a piece of junk like this ill never know.
The two I own changed 0-100% in well under two hours. I have two other +2000 watt solar batteries same company. The only issue I have had with any of the 4 is the first one I purchased was dead on arrival. +2000 watt. They told me to keep it and promptly sent out a new one. I fixed it for under $30 dollars and gave it to a friend. I will time them next time and give you a more accurate time frame.
@dandon1105Rated inverter output and total battery capacity are two completely different things. The thing you want to pay attention to is how many watt hours of capacity the battery has. If the battery is only 100 watt hours (WH) your TV which uses 100 watts will only last approximately 1 hour. If you have a battery capacity of 2,000 watt hours, your TV will run for approximately 20 hours. I just got an EB3A this week and apparently based on the Bluetti community forums a few people use an additional external fan with the EB3A to prevent overheating under high loads. Temp issues are related to ambient temperature, the unit will shed a certain amount of heat, if it's 70ºF vs 80ºF in the room the temp curves are different. That said Bluetti needs a firmware fix to run the fan earlier to prevent over temp issues.A firmware fix to be more aggressive with the fan would be good.
I'm not fond of rapidly charging a battery unless there's a really good reason to. If you run out of battery too quickly it's best to buy more batteries. You can plug most power stations directly to a 12V battery and use the power station while it is being charged. If you need a massive amount of power, then it's best to just have large batteries and alternators. Good to test stuff though, and see what you like best.
Hmm, interesting review, I have 5 of these for various functions and have never had an overtemp issue. Your time to 80% seems pretty close to what I see on standard mode. I seldom use turbo mode, usually solar. Thanks for the review and something to watch for. BTW, what version firmware are you on?
Thanks for watching! I’d love to get feedback from other people regarding their real world charging times! So the next time you charge your EB3A from the wall, stick a timer on it and report back how long it took! Running ARM version: v2057.11 and DSP: v2056.10
I had 4 units with no problems all used as UPS's. 1 unit did develop problem after an update and unit was returned for a refund. You might think about sending it in for service.
Something is not right if i charged my eb3a from empty to full in silent mode it takes 2hrs and 10 min , and then in standard mode empty to full it takes 1hr and 20 min .
So sorry to hear of your issues! Aside from the form factor...I like everything else about my Anker more. The Anker has been fantastic! Thanks for watching!
for simple recharge stuff buy 2 EB3A and rotate them one always full 100% . that can be usefull specially at the price they sell for it can be worth it.?
I just recieved my unit today and the turbo charge doesnt work at all. I get the same chargjng wattage of around 155w on turbo as i do standard. Bit annoyed with this as this was the main reason i chose this unit over others. Or does the unit need to be at 0 charge to be able to use turbo ?
As you saw in the video...it has heat issues on turbo. I also don't see it do it's full speed unless you are well below 80% state of charge. It is a great unit...just has charging speed issues. Thanks for watching!
@@theresatrickforthat it's nothing to do with heat issues on mines. It won't charge In turbo mode at all. There's no overheating warning showing on mines. Simply won't charge in turbo or anything over 155w. The whole reason I bought this over others was because of the turbo charge mode. This is something I need. Its just the same as every other power generator without this feature.
Just purchased unfortunately not working well, half output ports don't work unit consistently turns off (no turbo used) when using others to charge equipment
@@theresatrickforthat I’m not an expert but always thought the fastest charge time claim was based on using both AC & DC inputs simultaneously? I’m probably wrong:) Thanks!
It looks like the best charge rate would be to start in Standard Charge for the first 50 minutes to 80% and then move it to Silent Charging to top off the battery. Too bad there's no way you can program the system to do such or have them upgrade the firmware to do that for you... 🖥 🐁
@@theresatrickforthat Just running some Charge Tests on the one I received yesterday. Glad I watched your video before I went to sleep last night... 🌙 😃
Looks like you need to turn your unit in. Because my shit charges in 60 mins and I own two of them, and they both perform exactly the same in charging. You need to turn your unit in because yours is messed up... Unless the temperature in your location was hot those units will charge slower
Thanks for sharing your experience! Maybe there are units out there that actually charge correctly! Sounds like yours is one of them! Thanks for watching!
Haha! I’d love some tissues! Thanks for watching and commenting! If you think of it the next time you charge one of your units up, try timing it and report back! I’d love to get more real world charging times reported!
This shit is literally a scam. Do a video on how long it takes the solar panels to actually recharge that thing to 100%. Its unfortunately sad how many people fall for this and think it can fully replace a gas generator.
