Glad to see the speedrun for Bluey is just as wholesome and fun as the actual show! And, I don't care if it's cheesy, but I loved every time Spike yelled "TECH!!!" when something even remotely speedy happened.
Hooray!! Can confirm "busting" is an Australian term which means you really have to pee 😂 Spike's chattermax impression was a highlight for my 4 year old, best run!
It's always a culture shock when a word that is so common in your day-to-day language that you don't even realize that it could ever be considered odd until spikevegeta breaks down in laughter hearing it. I know we have Kiwi slang and Australian slang that no one else uses, but finding out that busting is one of those words really surprised me.
Now Vicious Waza (not certain if I'd spelt that correctly, but needing to go for a vicious waza is the same thing as busting is the sort of slang that I'd expect no-one outside of AU/NZ to know what I'm talking about. Busting, not so much.
13:48 Aaaand here we witness a room of adults trying very hard in the face of adversity to keep the run and its commentary wholesome. This run was hilarious, thanks, Phillie!
truth! there are people in this world who are so expressive that they're perfect for 'blind couching' a gdq run, and spike is absolutely three of them.
I didn't expect this run to be so good. My jaw dropped when Muffin said she was busting. Then I remembered, this is Australian so that means something completely different.
I think (based on some googling) that there is a more adult (sexual) connotation with an American slang term. But, as an American myself, I didn't really get why everyone thought that was so funny either. I thought it was pretty obvious that it was slang for needing to go pee.
When I was a wee American lad in the '80s, 'busting' meant catching criminals, solving crimes, and sometimes using nuclear accelerators to suck ghosts into li'l devices to be dumped into a holding tank under a disused NYC fire house. Until William Atherton's character ruined it for everyone. But I also knew one could be 'bustin' (bursting) with 'good news,' for some reason, when I was young.
Haha actually in Australia, and I think UK too(?) saying “I’m busting” is common and means you really have to pee/use the restroom. In the show they reference a few times of “I’m Busting!” And then followed by a bathroom break of some sort 😂
