Blumenhofer Genuin FS3 vs KEF Q 700 

The Blumenhofer's bass is so much tighter; the KEF is boomy/loose. Much prefer Blumenhofer. Listened to a pair of Genuin FS2 MK2s driven by Takasuki's new 300B (7w) amp this past week at the Tampa audio show. The sound was lovely; deep solid & articulate bass, killer vocals & mids, smooth treble. Seriously nice.

Great compairison, super systems! Both are very good, I am however a fan of Blumenhofer for the natural sound. Lovely!

Blumenhofer has a much more organic sound and accurate frequency separation. The KEF sounds like a decent car stereo.

Even on my laptop speakers it's obvious the FS3s sound more open. The KEFs are tonally more 'grey' sounding, typical for mor high-end speakers.

I was Born for a Horn

Instruments more airy, freely floating with more openness and clarity with the Blumenhofer, yet a slight horn colored tone yet less strenous. St first voice sound colored with the Blumenhofer, a bit artificial but too dull and slow and constrained, muffled with the KEF. Honestly, both are not too good.

Kef better

KEF is good at playing classical music. but it works well in this video.

Plug Dire Straits into the iron - it will sound great...to test serious devices, you need more complicated music ...
