Yeah I feel the same, noticed them somewhere around last year when I started some animating myself. Always been a huge fan of the Swtor cinematic so I looked up who had made that so here I am.
@@NightcoreFlowGames2 The SWTOR cinematic I think set teh standard that everyone's still living up to. There's a moment in the "Hope" trailer when the rain is pouring at night while Senya is trying to escape with her daughter and their lit by hundreds of different light sources, all shimmering in the rain on the surfaces of their skin or armor. The cloth animations too. Every detail is breathtaking.
+Joshua Igor it cannot be the Star Trek: The Game because there were Starkiller and Dart Vader and they are from Star Wars Can anybody tell me from it really is?
+Joshua Igor 0:55 Halo 2? 0:58 Confirmed Elder Scrolls 1:23 It's either as you said or a scene from The Division trailer 1:39 I see dem wrist claws so I think Batman. It's the live action trailer I think.
If I was any intelligent CEO I would try to make a movie or some kind of miniseries with Blur. Can you imagine how awesome a Halo series could be if it was handled by these guys? Honestly they are some of the most talented animators in the industry, if not the most.
I've seen nearly all this animations and been amazed by every single one of them but I just discovered that all of them were made by this godly studio. It looks crazy good!
This is incredible!!! Amazing!!! Now I need a complete list of where are the clips from, so i can watch them again, and again, and again... xD (I´ve never seen some of them)
Blur does NOT get the recognition it deserves. What a stupendously amazing studio, that has done so many incredible CG scenes, all completely unbeknownst to most people.
Andy First of all it wasn't made by Sony, second of all its not even a game, and third of all its called Samsung and Avengers assemble. It's about VR. Why make shit up?
Replying to a year-old comment, but why not :P Blizzard is notorious for in-house cinematics, but only for games that were made by the studio before the merger with Activision. I can't really comment on WB/Rocksteady(the studio who created the Arkham series) but I don't think WB actually creates a lot of game cinematics, those projects seem to typically be contracted out(same goes for Di$ney). Ubisoft and Bioware/former LucasArts I believe did create their own cinematics before contracting with Blur starting with Mass Effect 2's 2010 E3 trailer and Star Wars: The Old Republic - the 'Deceived' trailer respectively.
I absolutely refuse to believe the Sonic CG is supposed to look like it is now. I think it's intentionally bad to drum up press, while they have a much nicer model that they can swap in when the movie actually comes out.
Hey Blur its been long time dream of mine for you guys to animate a full length Star Wars movie. I know its not your decision to make but if that day comes ..... so will I.
Why they don't make video game movies this way is beyond me! I just want a Batman movie where all the scenes are made by Blur where everything is made in cgi
Your work in Halo Wars was some of the best. Excellent consistency there. Halo MCC was more overstylized, though that may have been a problem with the direction given. Can you tell me if most of these shots come from your own creativity, or if they are explicitly set out beforehand and you simply bring them to life?
+pubup It's just a new reel for 2016. Not that they are all from 2016. They have so much to draw on they could do a new one every single year that includes any of their new stuff and old stuff that hasn't been put together in a reel.
I wonder how they came up with the company name... "Hey this reflection doesn't look good... how can we fix it?" "OH I KNOW! Just Blur it!" And bam. Blur was born. :D
Max actually uses the term "roughness" to define microsurface maps :S You can apply a roughness map on the gloss channel as well as diffuse etc... Glossiness & roughness are essentially the same thing though.. both words are a way to describe how dull or glossy a certain channel of the material is It just depends from the software & what term they chose to use..
