just like that entire record. i know exactly what you mean. sloppy perfection. even all those weird interludes in between the tracks on the album, they are so fucking thrilling and dark and original and catchy and awesome! swamp song is killer!
They are so fucking high on this live set it is everything that I love about them. Graham is shitfaced drunk, this is definitely not their hiatus or best moment of sobriety, but holy hell, this is Blur! This is what I craved when I was high on heroin. Those were the days! Everyone I grew up with is dead.
Damon is amazing in this song, totally out of control, deep in the song, what a frontman. And, as usual, Graham rocks, playing awsome riffs and looking cool as fuck...Damn, they were just unbelivable on stage!!
lol i remember the old 90s-era fake feud between blur and oasis. I also remember that damon albarn and justine frischmann were dubbed 'king and queen of indie' or some shit.... its so funny to see how both bands turned out. well if i had to choose, blur clearly greater
Jesus Christ, I have no words to describe this performance.. Damon Albarn is sex himself, just amazing and this performance is orgasmic.. Fucking amazing and incredible.. I would have killed to see them live right in that moment.
real, a bunch of comments say that they like seeing him like this and that this is the best damon, and yes he shows amazing energy and the screams but it's kinda sad that he only like this when he's high and not having fun on stage like he usually does
does he yell FUCK YEAH in this one like he does on the album? SO GOOD, cant believe it almost wasnt put onto 13. This song makes the album. every time i listen to it, i cant wait to get to this song!
He was so high on heroin here, he was most all of the time. Especially after his messed up relationship with that heroin addict lady who was in that famous brit pop band... I forget her name, anyway Graham is shit faced drunk. His alcoholism is what ended up having him leave the band, that and being sick of Damon and his ego.
@pavioc16 I can understand that for some people this song can be confusing if they have no artistic sensibility or education, but I assure you Albarn really can sing ! If you want to hear how precise his voice can be, go listen to some live version of Trimm Trabb ot Out Of Time, and then perhaps you can judge him.
is there a Blur live album? this live is a masterpiece ... I would like the cd ... in front of these masterpieces I do this . On Wikipedia , no Blur live are reported , only studio album
@pavioc16 Just to clarify... in case you see this again, friend :P You're much better now. The quantity of Damon Albarn stuff has lowered to an acceptable level. Just, when someone doesn't like something... DON'T shove it down their throat. It's a very valuable lesson. People have different tastes...
@clashsandwich don't completely put all responsibility on me. I didn't say all of that was misremembered... You did pretty much force me to look through photo albums with you and watch tons of videos :P btw I love how this is public... "posting it on Facebook..."
@davesmith7891 Did I mention obsession? She even admits it. She found this video... and she said the exact same thing as you, I'm pretty sure, about the album version being much better. It just isn't my cup of tea, so to speak.
C Cannea Some site reports "saliva", other "soul life"...Personally I prefer to think Damon says saliva 😏 But I really can't say what he actually says 😂
@pavioc16 Well that all makes sense then, except you'd still have to look pretty hard to find this clip. Oh, and the album version of this song is much better than the live one. Swamp Song would be hard to pull off live because a lot of the lyrics are incomprehensible (to me anyway).
with a slide used deliberately imprecisely! Probably open E tuning, it's actually a piece of piss! someone who's never played guitar before could have a crack at this not to take away from Graham's brilliance!
