There are 3 Wal*mart stores within an hour of me. The total number of blu-ray and 4K movies among all of them: 0. I guess they think that people in rural areas only want DVD, because that's all they have. And 20 feet away, on the back wall, nothing but 4K TVs. This arrangement makes sense to somebody.

Speaking of The Land Before Time, I can't wait to get my Robocop 2 4k so I can watch Littlefoot throw down F-bombs in 4k.

My Walmart has had spots for The Gate, Killer Klowns, and The Crow steelbooks for a couple weeks. I've been there almost every day. NEVER once, has any of those films been put on the shelves. I'm 47 years old. Maybe one day I'll have something good to say about Walmart. But it doesn't look like it's going to be happening anytime soon! LOL!

I don't think Rookie of the Year has a blu yet. Maybe someday but like you said, Ken, it's Disney now...

My Walmart almost never has new releases that I want in stores. I was shocked to find a single copy of The Gate and White Worm Steelbooks two weeks ago. I never found The Gate last year with the Halloween slipcover, so I grabbed the Steelbook. I went back a week later and that copy of White Worm was still there looking lonely, so I copped it too 😂

My Walmart is also a complete joke. Barely anything but bargain bin DVDs. Even all of my local Targets have a better (albeit tiny) selection of new releases.

There are 5 Walmarts within 15 miles of me and none of that have updated their movie sections. None of them have even gotten a new release since Dune 2.

Barnes and Nobles is a good store for physical media. They even have sections for Criterion and Arrow Video.

Now I know who keeps tearing up the movie section. You went off like a bomb in there. 😂

I just got the complete series of Game of Thrones blu ray for 50 bucks. Shout out to Gruv for the super fast shipping. I ordered 2 days ago and it just arrived.

Same thing at my Wal Mart. They came out with that steelbook rack months ago. It's been nearly empty for 2 months. No new titles nor restocking. It really ticks me off. I notice for the most part they only stock a certain type of titles, including everything Disney.

It's so funny that you posted this video. I went to Walmart today just to see what they had. That place was EMPTY. I was prepared to drop $100 at least. The entire store only had three titles in 4K. It was so terrible.

I have been buying a lot of DVDs at Goodwill as well Ken. Like you, sometimes you just want to watch the film and not care whether it is in HD.

Sorry to report this news, but it appears as though Wal-Mart and their Supercentre locations in Canada are phasing out of selling cinematic and/or TV series physical media. In my locale of Vancouver and environs, their stores haven't brought in any new releases including "Dune: Part Two", (in fact, the current film holding the largest box office gross worldwide this year) in almost a month. Five buck Clearance bins remain in some locations, but neither new product has been racked in their sales modules nor has replenishment of their catalogue shelf spaces occurred. Hmmm...

My local Walmart is an absolute joke. After Best Buy stopped carrying physical media, it did pick up a bit. Little to zero Steelbooks. Recently, my local Walmart has reduced their movie wall to less than half. Only a small rack with "new" titles, what a joke, TV series, and a few random titles. The customer service is garbage as well. Other than Pawn Shops, Thrift stores and one record store, physical media has become near extinct.

Shivers is a great movie and that steelbook is dope. I’m shocked you won’t blind buy Liar of the White Worm. Get those steels :)

My Steelbook rack has been empty since Best Buy stopped. Befroe, they had Creephow, Shivers, etc. I asked them and they said they do not get stock. Frustrating.

DVDs probably look OK on a small screen, but at 110” they are unwatchable. Love the videos, hunting for diamonds in the rough is a lot of fun…

Maybe walmart stocks more of what sells or what they think will sell. Maybe that's why they sometimes don't have titles in all formats.

Yes I was kinda let down by Wal Mart's selection. But I did find steelbooks of Dredd and Prisoners of the Ghostlands (big regret, terrible movie)

Who the hell is still buying DVDs in this day and age? You couldn’t even match the quality of this RU-vid video on a DVD! It’s long past time to retire the format for anything besides old TV shows.
