Looking forward to those videos on the BM lifts, I have never heard of them before watching this channel, but the way you describe them reminds me of how Borvig is here in the states
I have never worked on a Borvig but have ridden quite a few! BM is a solid old chair but the fit and finish had much to be desired. I see that you can still purchase a new Partek (Borvig) and it’s great to see small companies still producing chairlifts.
It’s interesting seeing how some of the newer BM deigns become the standard for poma fixed grips in the early 2000’s. I saw one of my first BM’s a few years ago, I thought it was a poma but to my surprise it wasn’t.
I am currently transitioning out of the career I have been in for the last 10 years into something new. I have been eyeing studying to be a lift mechanic but still TBD
Not far at all! You have quite the collection of lifts, hall, riblet, Ctec, and a Poma. I have never worked on a hall and limited experience with Riblet, what is your preference?
I love Doppelmayr lifts, fit and finish is incredible and their carriers and line gear are top notch. My biggest beef with them is their electric and hydraulic systems are somewhat over complicated and I much prefer Leitner/Poma tensioning units and brake controllers. Thanks for watching!
Small water nozzles and high pressure water. They were never that popular in southern Ontario as we deal with marginal temps but I’ve heard they work well below -10
I’ve never worked on one but have certainly ridden lots. I spent a lot of time at a hill with several Borvig’s including an old double that I really liked the design of.
