Dumb people. Just wait until a kid gets badly injured for them to do anything about it. You can already see here he doesn't have control over his techniques (obviously at that age) but they let it happen anyway (arm bar with full force, no control, when you're not even fully developed yet). Yeah, that seems like a great idea. In real martial arts there's stuff you won't even hear about until you're either old enough or skilled enough to start learning, let alone master...
No punches to the head, shin guards and bulkier gloves...what's the problem? These kids have trained hard to be where they are saying that they can't compete is like teaching somebody to swim and telling them to stay in the shallow end. Realistically it would be wrong to not allow them the same chance as everyone else considering they put same effort in. From the outside in it may seem barbaric but these fights are heavily sanctioned and closely monitored by ref's. I personally see absolutely nothing wrong with these young athletes competing. And admire the courage they show everytime they make the long walk to the octagon. That being said I do understand how it would be somewhat surprising or even confronting seeing two groms throw down in the octagon.
Given that I am against the use of children in MMA, where innocent people are trained in violence, to satisfy the repressed (sadistic?) instincts of the adults present. This clip shows the little future gladiator monster expressing his joy (it's not his fault of course...). Luckily someone is paying attention to the victim on the ground, who seems to be recovering well.
