BMPCC 4K VS BMCC 2.5K (My Thoughts on the two cinema cameras)

I prefer the look of the original BMCC and BMPCC. Got more of that film look.

Man I don't know what to do. Spent the last week researching the bmpcc 4k but now I'm looking into the bmcc 2.5 and 4k now. I'm new to videography (except drone videos) so I think the pocket 4k is a bit much but I don't want to feel like I should have upgraded if I get the bmcc

the colour "fidelity" in the 2.5k outweighs any increase in sharpness brought about in newer blackmagic cameras. you can really tell in the green tones and skin tones there's a kodak / filmish vibe. the 4k and 6k to my eyes look more like a canon image with pushed reds and yellows. They killed it with the 2.5k and super 16 pocket and need to get back to that look IMO!!

Bmcc 2.5 image is so much more interesting

there are some very good videos on youtube, including this one, that proves, that the good old BMCC, still has a very cinematic quality. I mean you can buy it for the price of a Sony A6400 by now, and you cant even compare the two in "cinematic look". My only concern is, that if I shoot in raw with the 2.5K, can it still record audio into the, or next to the project as well? Or when I want to shoot in RAW with the 2.5K, a MUST have an external audio recorder? because for me its a bit of a dealbreaker.

Great review, but I’m not sure where the BMCC2.5K is more expensive used than the BMPCC4K (at 4:30). I can find a used BMCC with EF Mount in decent condition for 500 to 800€, while the BMPCC4K costs 1400€ new and even used never sells for less than 1000€.

i have the Bmcc 2.5k and making a film with it this year 2020 i love it it has a classical film look to it. i had the production 4k and sent it back i think it was damage, the DR is so good on the camera Bmcc 2.5k you can shoot in 1080 export it out in 4k you will not loose any resolution as far as low shooting just up your editing skills get Red Giant Denoiser now i have to confess in some situations i do what the 4k which i will be getting this year but until than i just shoot and continue learning I THINK THE BMCC 2.5K IS STILL A BARGAIN EVEN FOR 2020

the only downsde of the 2.5k is the audio input amp. its very brittle sounding even with a powered microphone

Hello, I have doubts whether to buy the BMCC 2.5k or the BMPK 4k. The BMCC 2.5k I have heard has good color. I am new to film cameras. I have a hobby and I make short films and I need a camera with good quality and I am undecided between the two. Because you can buy the BMCC 2.5k for €800 or €700 and the question I have is whether a directional microphone plugged into the BMCC 2.5k gets a good sound or does it have to be with a separate external recorder because I don't want to buy a recorder either because the microphone that I have is good and of course I'm undecided and because I see that I want to buy the BMCC 2.5k or that I want the BMPK 4k and both are good cameras but the 4k is worth €1,123 and I don't know what it's worth. I look for that cinematographic image for my short films and these cameras achieve that effect, what would you advise me and a lens from a nikon d2300 is compatible with an adapter to the blackmagic ones. btw that 2,5K is Blackmagic PRODUCTION Cinema Camera i am using that 4K version and is still AWESOME
