The sound of the engine still gives me the chills😬. I have so good memories of that car☺ sheer driving pleasure i think i start searching to gain one again😋
Insane POV, it feels like your actually driving compared to other POVs where ur like on top of someones head aha. Its so smooth like ur in some simulation or video game
This was my first car in the 90's, and since that time i'm a BMW owner. Had to sell it because the rust was taking over. Sometimes i am still dreaming of it. With such a car you have to learn to drive - no ABS, no servo steering, no electric window lifters and... rear wheel drive😁 no comparison to modern cars🤔🙈
Ahh man that sound, My parents bought one in 2003 for €800,- Car was the most basic E30 320i you can imagine but was in neat shape with almost no rust, The engine and gearbox were in good shape too. only the shock absorbers were super bad. And there was this keyless thing which did not always work, that was a real pain. You'd have to fiddle around with it until the led turned solid red. To this day I regret we got rid of it. I still have no idea why that car was just €800,- It had the exhaust replaced and my mom told me that the cost was as much as the entire car.
This POV really captures the essence of driving the E30, particularly the vibe and feel of that 2ltr six! BMW really had this thing going on back then with their cars. Some how, those 320/325 engines combined with that neat little saloon body incapsulated the effortless pull and torque that yu might usually associate with a large luxury saloon or sedan. But then the compactness, shape n styling of the dash and feel of controls add this real sporting edge to the whole proceedings. An ex girlfriend had a little red 320. I use to love tearing about in it! Felt like an elastic band pulling yu along the road whenever yu stepped on the throttle! Best car BMW ever made, in my humble opinion.
I fully believe the best bmws all have inline 6s and weigh under 4000lb. Forget the V8s, ignore the 4 bangers. The magic is an inline 6 stuffed in an old 3 or 5 series. With a 5 speed.
Just yesterday when I was out with the boys, as we walked out of one street I saw one dark monster with the kidneys on the front grill and the 4 round headlights and immediately I thought: E34!. We all ran towards it and as we got close, I noticed smaller kidneys and narrower body and we all looked at original E30. The BMW was with broken front bumper and stolen front license plate, under a bush and a tree, stopped next to a housing block and 1,50m from the sidewalk. On the vignette sticker on the front glass we saw that the car was last ridden in 2016. Went to the back and immediately noticed the super old back headlights and trunk and the "316" writing. I got laying with the flashlight and there was NO RUST! The car just got some starting stains of rust on the end of the suspension (absolutely normal) and of course the exhaust pipe was rusty. That's all, not eaten from rust fenders, doors and so on- it is clean. The mileage showed 130 000km which is good for almost 40yo car. It had cringy white upholstery like from old sofa and a worn-out hat on the passenger seat- all signs that a old man drove the car. I told my father about it and on the photos and description he really liked the car. After few days we will go together and he will give his opinion as a former mechanic and professionalist on buying cars, but his opinion will not be different from mine- A legendary car without rust and kept for the most time in garage, that it's owner probably died and they just left it. If he likes it, we're gonna leave notes on the car that we want to buy it, because that car will sit there for couple more years and they are gonna scrap it. In my mind the car will be back on the road just for couple of weeks of cosmetic and little technical work. I have seen times worse condition on some cars and they get back on the road.
Great video and great car! I’m looking forward to buy my e30, wolud you suggest an inline 6 or a 4 like the 318 (in terms of reliability and spare parts disponibility)? And what is that indicator down the rpm’s? Thanks!
Interesting how short the gearing is.. ~3000 revs is just over 100km/h in top gear. Probably a very usable top gear, but would be so nice if it had 6th that would drop the revs by 500 or more. Great video.
What versions of the car have that steering wheel i see some with 4 those things in the middle and some with 3 but newer are there only coupes that have that steering wheel?
There is one in my local area for 1600$ with 520i engine, the color is red and its a little bit beat up but still in good shape nonetheless is it worth it ?
I've seen few pov drives of new 3 series with all different engines and models but non of them sound as real and good as there old bmws this is just the 320i and sounds this good imagine the 325i, 328i 330i or even the m3 e30 I've seen the new ones even the new 320i sounds dead and feel weak.
@@zenmotors4979 wow, it's surprisingly great quality for a wide angle phone camera. What did you use to fix your phone and where did you fix it? Head? Chest?..
@@emanuelsim8028 sa-l stapanesti sanatos! Eu caut un coupe 325, dar sunt f scumpe. Pe asta nu vreau sa-l modific, il las stock. I-am schimbat aripile si nu ii mai dau de cap la culoare. Nu pot sa ma uit la el zebra asa :))
@@fionn1206 320i and 325i aren't very friendly on gas regardless of how you drive it.. might be worth seeking out a 325e, that thing likes low revs and can be more efficient on gas then both 320i and 325i if you want it to be.
