In this way, the motor will never work properly. You need to connect the computer diagnostics and fuel delivery should be from 4.10 to 5.00 with the air conditioning off. And the angle of injection should be 2.51.
I ALWAYS ALWAYS do it like that, till perfect ,NEVER any machine; (have good ears, i can very well hear the amount injection advance--pinging); *but* the increments are absolutely MINIMAL!! a slip up by Bosch for sure, .1mm either way on that pump cover(lower) may be too much; shame on bosch!!
NEED HELP . I rebuild the engine and do timing correctly, the pump works and fuel is injected but the engine doesn't fire although starter and battery are good and glow system is working. I also replace glow plug.
I have replaced the pump on my m51How do you adjust the timing?I cant see what screws you are removing!😳My motor wont start. It sound like it want tonfire but the pump shuts off
there are torx and a bolt where fits 7mm i think, u have to open them a lil bit so u can knock them so the pump starts giving more fuel, but timing was 2x 8mm bolts i think..
It's better to do this with the engine on, hit it towards driver until the engine starts shaking, then hit it back until the shaking stops, thats the gold point
Invisible12345ful hit what and undo what I have same problem with my 325 TDS but since I bought it’s been a lumpy idle and car is shaking rigourously changed everything but the pump and cuts out when hot changing gear in auto?
@@prittenchauhan7111 Sorry for late reply. If your pump cuts out when it gets hot, it means the pump is almost dead, you will soon need to change it. But if you have nothing to lose, you can try this fuel adjusting, what to do: Make sure the engine is on 1. Open hood 2. Find the high pressure pump, it is silver colour, and on top there are 4 screws, and a bit lower (like 5cm) are 4 more screws. 3. Untighten these lower 4 screws just a bit (you have to just feel it) 4. Grab some metal stick and a hammer, put the stick to the cover of this box, and start very lightly hitting it with a hammer towards driver, you should hear that your engine will change its tone a bit. 5. HIt it lightly with a hammer until your engine starts to shake and do weird vibrations, then, put the hammer and stick from the other side and hit it lightly until it stops shaking 6. You have now pump-tuned your TDS, congrats, tighten the 4 screws and you are good to go If you hit it with a hammer and it doesnt change, unscrew the screws a bit more. If you hit it with a hammer and it goes wild and gives gas like crazy, turn off the engine as fast as you can and/or hit the pump towards the front of the car to stop fuel feeding. If you messed up the adjustment, keep hitting it with a hammer to different positions until you can start the car, you will understand very quickly how it works. Have fun!
@@Invisible12345ful thanks, that is correct, just a warning for whoever else attempts it: **NEVER EVER** do that without another DRIVER sitting at the wheel with his hand on the ign.key , READY to SHUT OFF the engine if RPMs climb wildly; you only have 1/8th of a second to do it; in 1/2 sec it will be at over 5000 RPMs and may E X P L o D E ; this is not a joke!! edit: also because Driver's side means one thing in the UK and the OPPOSITE almost everywhere else... better always say RHS or LHS of car, while sitting in it.
@@josepeixoto3715 Yes, must be careful. Also, whatever side, the pump will be in the same position for all cars, the frontward hitting will reduce fuel feed, and backward hitting will increase fuel feed
