The good thing about a car which has great amount of torque is, even with load it will only lose 10% of its performance. Whereas a high hp nominal torque car will lose a lot of performance when you add weight
Not a fair race, but was shocked to see 2.0 litre petrol reeling in at 200 kph, if 530i had a 3.0 litre 6 cylinder turbo, 530d would have been smoked, you just can't beat petrol at same displacement.
There's a reason why sports cars have petrol engines and off-roading vehicles have diesel. Diesel is not meant for sheer performance, yes it has good amount of torque, but still petrol got power.
I didn't say torque has no effect on performance, but torque is helpful during launches bcoz high torques can give u good launches as well, but in the medium and longer range diesels aren't as good as the Petrol. High torque is helpful if u r in some good off-roading SUV then while climbs on going on steeps and stuff torque is helpful. U don't see Lambos, Ferraris or Porsches with Diesel cars ryt bcoz in out right performance petrol is better. For instance, Fortuner has like 201 BHP but around 500 NM torque, this is similar to that of an Audi Q8 which also has 500 NM torque and around 350 HP. People are so mad behind Lamborghinis especially the Aventador, yk the original Aventador had around 690 NM torque which just 190 NM more than that of Fortuner, which is just around 38% more. Torque is good for acceleration, and in normal cars, if they're diesel they have slightly more torque than their petrol counterparts and the power offered is almost same so in drag races those diesel cars r quite beneficial bcoz there's not much difference in power but they have high torque so better acceleration, so they perform well in drag races.
@@prayasdash that's only bcoz diesel engines are bigger and heavier and sports cars need to be as light as possible to increase rpm.. my point is unless ur a professional driver, diesel is way better.. vehicle feels more in character.. petrol is fast but it bores u too soon and not as joyous.
Who races with the camera in one hand?? How are guys not in jail yet?! Super unprofessional! Quick suggestion - Race the 1995 530d with the 2023 540i next ;)
Older engines are build for performance only , newer once has too much in them like need to take care of avg and many other things. Older only performance
At initial stages, torque matters and after that,hp matters. Thats why 530i starts reeling in. Remember diesel engine covers the full stroke whereas petrol engine covers less than diesel one. Thats why diesel has more torque which causes good launch.
Bhai 200 kmph tak to 530d aagay thi to konsa potential plus its an eight year old car with lakh kilometres on odo …same model ki 530i le aao to lag pata jaaye ga
Turbo diesel has max pull at 2k rpm to 4k rpm. You'll kill the 530 engine by revving it till redline. Turbo diesels will not have any power bear redline. You are just wasting time by taking it till redline.
old is GOLD ill Alwasy go for the older version it looks better and it also performs better with hand full of performance mods it can easily push 400BHP limit ofc petrol is the way to go
@@ragi_dosa I hate the modern headlight design, the halo lights are iconic I'd say its ok looks wise. performance wise its also not as good as F10 and F30 and other old models pre 2015
@@ragi_dosa I driven couple of 5 series and they are amazing I haven't tried the newer ones tho. and talking about the design I strongly disagree. old models were the perfection of BMWs design language simple, elegant yet sporty and aggressive those design were versatile ASF. you could drive it as a business man or as a car enthusiasts and it would compliment both. the newer models have lost the charm in my Opnion
Bhai tum log enthusiast ho par knowledge zero hai you should never push these cars or any car soo many times in a short spam in such weather if your engine overheat ones there are high chances you blow up your engine head gasket and engine head which can lead to engine rebuild thats why there are no track days in India during summer time. I really love watching your videos but you should also do take care of other peoples car while driving.
