When I purchased the E36 the window was stuck up, which is a common problem with these cars. I pulled a used window motor from the junkyard and replaced the broken window motor.
Tools needed:
-torx bit set

Hey, you deserve a lot more subs and a lot more views. I'm here for the vw but I still watch your bmw videos because the tutorials are 100%. Keep doing what your doing and I'll keep watching what your putting out. Your a great guy and thank you.

/BCENZtube any things fine, right now my brother my dad and I are changing the cam shaft chain tensioner in my mk4 1.8t Jetta. The radiator video helped with finding some of the harder to find screws. Again thanks and thanks for replying.

I still have my E36. It's getting too old and may visit the graveyard soon. "Till then; I will continue to watch this very helpful videos. At this time my driver's window won't go up; seems like it's a motor problem and now I know how to take care of it!! The questions is; after you take the rivets off to remove the motor; what do you use when you put the motor back on?

how did you adjust the motor my window goes too far up

Need some help. 99 convertible - window motor would not move more then an inch. I put a new motor on it and it still only moves 1 inch up and down, nothing more. Old motor was original BMW unit and many people told me the motors go out of boundaries and one issue is that they tend to get stuck. So I bought a brand new unit and it does the same. I do not think I have 2 defective motors here, something else. To make matters worse, now its stuck in a low position and I can not even get the motor out as the rail (toothed sprocket) covers one of the mounting bolt. Now what ?

Test the assembly outside before putting it on the door. If it works outside and the doesn't when you put it in your door, then it must be the alignment. There is one bolt somewhere in the center of the one arm where you can make some adjustment for alignment. Good luck.
