Pro tip: at 4:49 that rusty metal bracket can be pried up on either side with a trim tool or flathead before removing the headunit. It allows the center console tabs to expand outwards and makes removing the headunit a ton easier

Thank you for a very helpful video! Life saver! I’m struggling to fit the Carplay and cables neatly to allow the cover to go back on. Do you please have any advice as not able to see very well in the video.

Hello, could you send us what microphone are you referring to? Some aftermarket microphones provide slightly modified architecture, making it incompatible with retrofits designed for OEM BMW equipment.

Is it possible to have the wiring harness splice into the back of the aux port for a cleaner look? Similar to how the microphone splices

Hey! For the aux it is not possible to do like with the mic, it needs to be plugged like this, the only thing that can help is to hide the rest of the aux wire under the trim :)

The sound from the CarPlay is played through the AUX input, I just spliced the wires into the cable behind the car AUX input so you don't see it, and the aux input is still usable@@lerenner9002
