@@FizzyMotors I feel that for sure. I got a GoPro around Christmas and shot a quick video driving in my 535i, it is now down also lol so I'm looking forward getting a better POV video once im done with repairs.
this is literally my dream car! No bullshit electronics softwares... THIS is a masterpiece. Thank you for posting this video, I keep repeating the full throttle parts.
Thanks a lot man. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I have a few more videos of this car on my channel, if you're interested please check it out. I am also in the process of repainting the car to British racing green, will be posting videos about it in due time.
@@FizzyMotors lived in Phuket for 12 years. I am well aware of the car scene in Bkk, Pattaya and provinces. Your uncle probably imported back in the 90s or early 2000s?
@@npsdptk0084 there are lots of hidden gems here, but you have be in the Thai groups. My uncle bought the car from another guy so the history of this car is not clear. Ive seen at least 4 other e34 M5s, one of them is a silver 3.8 wagon, belongs to a friend.
Really enjoyed this video. Just picked up an E34 M5 3.6 just last week. Love the way it rewards you using revs. You have to drive it in a gear lower than you think. Yes there are faster cars but the way it makes you feel when driving it is amazing. You know the other drivers are enjoying their drive less than you are. The other thing is the car is almost anonymous on the road except for a select few hardened car enthusiasts who smile with approval.
Thank you! Yea you described it perfectly. I absolutely love the engine on this car it's so fizzy. You can hear everything from the valve train, pulleys, and water pumps; Its a lost art this
OMG the M54B30 in my '03 Z4 can only dream of sounding this good ! Hope you can fix it up as much as possible - in the meantime, that is one epic sounding motor, just brilliant 👏🏽
Wow, thailand has a good condition e34 m5? Love the pull, sounds awesome Here in malaysia i dont remember seeing e34 m5 at all, there are several e36 m3 out there
@@FizzyMotors superb. I always lust after a 6 speed but with the significant premiums, I'm not sure if it's worth it...This video proofs that it probably isn't worth the extra money and the difference can buy you an E46 M3 together with 3.6 E34!
@@550LMS yea youre right i dont think its worth the premium for the 6 speed. I did a basic calculation to compare the gear ratios (including final drive), and basically the 5 speed has marginally shorter gears from gears 1 - 4. And then on the 5th gear it becomes longer than the 6 speed slightly. And lastly the 6tu gear on the 6 speed i guess is made for fuel economy. So actually i dont think its worth the premium. Also the 6 speed only came with the 3.8. so that would he the main deciding factor If you want the extra grunt and bigger displacement. However, i remember in one of Chris Harris' interviews, he thinks the 3.6 is the sweeter engine to have, but never explained why haha.
@@FizzyMotors Yeah I heard CH saying that...not sure if he said that simply because he owns it or because it's true. Either way...An E34 M5, you can't go wrong!
@@550LMS exactly, as all e34 m5 owners like to say " its the last hand built M car!". Anyway when I get the gauge cluster sorted i might post a video about what the M5 is like to drive. Its definitely very unique
