This vid is showing a problem I had programming my E36 3Buttons remote . I tried everything and the problem was in the antenna located in rear mirror. Hope this help someone.
A lifesaver! Same thing happened to me, the antenna/receiver just died. Replaced the mirror, everything worked. NOTE: If you can UNLOCK the car with the remote, but not LOCK it, the door switches may have contact problem. Try to push the doors in a little, one bye one, and press LOCK, to see which door closing switch may be iffy (my driver's door has this problem, understandably).
Yes, the remote receiver is built inside the mirror, even i tested all the electrics inside the mirror with no fault I used the car One year without remote, then I got my hands on another mirror and gave it a shot * mirror from my friend car first tested it * it worked so i bought one immediately :D hope this helps
moe Bustami thanks for the reply, I had a look in my mirror and the receiver isn’t in the mirror on my 323i convertible so still searching for the problem. I think my GM unit might be faulty :/
@@TobyNalder you're welcome. BTW if you have the remote seperated from the key, then you have an ALARM SYSTEM Installed. If so you have to check in the forums for the procedure since it's different to program. All the best:)
