2002 540i pre cat sensors we're way up under the engine, not close to where shown in this video. FYI for others. Most will need a lift.

Dude you skip the most important think to mention wich one is babk1 sensor 1 an sensor 2 and bank 2 senser 1 and 2 👎 this video is not really helpful

Any plans for getting a car lift? Suppose your garage might be on smaller scale of things, but it really makes jobs like these a breeze.

I having this code pop up , I’ve replaced to pre cat o2 sensors and still threw the code ,other than that the car runs fine no other lights ,it’s a 2002 540i any ideas 💡 code is p1159 manufacturing control fuel air metering.

I just replaced the spark plugs and the ignition coils on my e39 and I got check engine and cat red flashing code and misfire on cylinder 8 with fuel cutoff😭😭 someone help please

Quick question: My 97 540i is not throwing any O2 codes, my CEL light is not on, and she's running great. I went to get California's wonderful SMOG and passed every thing except NO (PPM) at 15MPH. My question is could the pre-cat sensors be bad even though no codes thrown, causing this condition?

how many cats this car has and where they are located? does it has 4 cats two connected to the manifold and two underneath the car?

Is p0420 normally for post or pre cat? I have an 01 m5

Hi guys, you guys mentioned to reset the ECU, how would I do that on my e39 540i (she's a '97) after I replaced all 4 of her o2's sensor.

Spud wrench gets them out pretty easy.

Hi I have a question. My Son gave me a 2001 BMW 540i. I had went to Walmart and when I got back in the car it didn't want to turn on. I tried and tried. But I had to get it towed. Two days later I went to go and start it up it crank up but I smell gas and the check engine light came on. It seems like when it gets hot it shuts down. I went out today to start it and now the check engine light is off.

Can you please tell me how to fix this problem. Thank you so much
