BMW E39 E53 X5 Satellite Navigation LCD Screen Replacement Pixel Repair 

Top man, just replaced the screen without any problems. But, had to adjust the Horizontal screw to get the picture central as it was out by about1/4 inch.

would this fix work for screens that turn a yellow haze from time to time?

Is the ribbon cable supposed to be sticky on the connecting end? There is a glue type residue on both ends of the ribbon.Can I just clean it with CRC or will that mess up the copper/golden connectors?

proper cleansing of the ribbon coppers for the yellow haze. As for dead pixels ?

i am looking for the brown pcb connector ribbon. does anyone know where to get them?

Warning!! The guy in the video is an experienced ei engineer. It's not as easy as it looks!; the video is only for information and if one is not serious damage to unit may occur and that could be the last chance to say your farewells to your 100 + bucks. Is better to be safe than sorry; get someone like the guy in the video to do it for you. If you are a novice just dreaming about fixing it then that could be farewell party to your BMW sat nav system in your honor!!! as after that you will sadly be navigating the roads using your mobile phone set trying to get to your next job interview!! thx
