great video, im contemplating doing this. my 2000 320 has only 66k miles on it. I read somewhere that fuel pumps fail at about 4k to 5k cycles. From a very rough calculation, I think 66k miles is about 2000 to 2500 cycles. in your opinion, should I replace it?
I think it's always good to replace for preventative maintenance. Especially its not too crazy expensive and who knows when these old fuel pumps might go bad.
@@HansGarage yep, youre right. I should just take the common sense route. the car IS 23 years old. i just did the oil filter housing gasket, valve cover gasket, purge valve, ps hoses, outer tie rods in march. im not touching it again for this year. so the fuel pump will be next year. after all, i only drive 10k kilometers a year.
@@HansGarage does the new fuel pump come with a fuel gauge sending unit? what brand did you get? most certainly dont want to get a crappy chinese made one. just replaced my cam position sensors because I thought they were going bad. I got hella brand and the intake one was defective. so i had to put my old one back in. one more question: getting this gas smell around the car, its not in the cabin and it doesnt seem like its coming from under the bonnet. its not as strong as before I replaced the purge valve and all the injectors, but its there. any experience with that on your car? charcoal canister, maybe?
while im at it, would like to get your opinion on one more thing: to change or not to change tranny fluid. like i stated earlier, the car is a 2000 320 with 100k kilos, thats about 70k miles. tranny fluid's never been changed. would you change it? why or why not
