Hello Nick. I have a 2005 BMW 323i..convertible. I love the convertibles.. This is my 3rd bmw. I bought the same stereo unit from allexpress.com but mine has knobs and the fit is perfect. Iam in California.. Wish u were closer i would hire u to install the rear camera. ☺ thanks again 4 your help.
U saved me. Thank you so much I went through trying to access factory settings and putting in password.(only setting I haven't tried to get to touch calibration)got stuck on the enter key after entering password. Struggling looking for opposite side enter key 😢 😭
@@nicklldoit thanks for the reply, finished installing mine today. Tough doing it, everything was extremely tight. It works though which is a relief..the only thing bugging me is it's showing the wrong door is open .. probably just a setting. Honestly, first impressions are wow! Speakers sound better too..will replace them too soon.. I've been looking at some alpine bmw direct replacement ones.
No problem with the factory HK system? A lot of the chinese sellers say there's a problem with the HK system because it has fibre optic. Which, according to experts is BS, no FO in the e46.
Hi Nick, one more question if you do not mind, i plan to use a usb thumb drive or sdcard to play most of my music videos through, can you recommend any video settings and audio setting i can use on my pc that will both sound great and use the full screen of the head unit rather than have video's playing back in letterbox style, i hate that!! cheers fella
I just bought a 10 inch one without the canbus box for my e46. Looks like a tablet with some metal brackets in the box. No dash trim or anything. Can't seem to find the canbus box separately. Any suggestions? I might just return it and get another one. 🤷
Is the you have similar to the one in the video or a universal one. These kits should come with one specifically for BMWs. I would ask the seller for one first.
I had this radio for about 2 years and it was fantastic! Unfortunately the touch screen gradually started to fail until the whole screen was unresponsive and the soft buttons too...
Hi Nick, i have the same original bmw head unit connector and i believe the same aftermarket android, so am curious to find out exactly why we have to connect the AMP to the antenna wire. Are you able to enlighten me on this? cheers fella Ian.. p.s i just read 'Service proccess' reply below, i think thats the answer i was looking for? i.e we need to send power to the amp via the 12v antenna fly lead?
Yes, you may have to trim some material on the left and right side. At least I had to, it may not be the same for everyone. I guess you won't know until you try and fit the unit in.
Looks awesome, I have the same car and radio I have a quick question how did you remove the piece to put the back camera in? I’m having a hard time with that It. Any guidance will be appreciate it. I’ve seen some videos but they don’t have the center logo like ours do.
Are you talking about the camera mounted to the trunk? If so, I just removed the right license plate lamp and place the new combo camera/light in that slot. I did have to trim the new piece a little to make it fit. I used a Dremel cut off wheel. Then I used clear silicone to seal up a small gap.
I just re-read your message, unfortunately you can't connect an apple device directly to a Android device. I usually plug to USB to charge and use Bluetooth to connect.
Overall it has been great, the only thing is when I put music to random mix. That function sometimes works the way it should. Other than that zero complaints, best upgrade you can do for your car.
Hi. I did this a while ago and had the same problem you have. There is a blue wire either labelled AMP or Ariel. it has a bullet connector on the end. And there should be a red wire labelled 12v or something like that. Basically you have to tell the amp to power on. and the head unit controls it. Both wires are in the harness that comes with the head unit. You just have to plug them into each other. Sorry I can't be more specific. search it on the bmw forums about telling the e46 amp to power up. Good luck!
I just bought an e46 with this exact screen in it, however it is extremely slow, and doesn't react to a lot of things you touch. Anyone else familiar with this problem?
greeting. I have the same model of tablet and after installation I noticed that the buttons on the climate panel and those from the electric windows always remain lit. You can only see the light at night being dim. Do you have any idea how I can fix this problem?
sounds like you have a Body control module issue. Did you disconnect the battery during install? I would suggest disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 15 minutes, then try again. If that doesn't work, do some trouble shooting. I would disconnect the AC controls first and see if that cleans things up.
@@florinclivet7177 so much for the easy fix. Unfortunately it's time to troubleshoot, I don't believe the radio has anything to do with the body module. But you need to reverse your steps and make sure you are not grounding out a wire during install. Remove the radio and try to see if things go back to normal.
@@florinclivet7177 disconnect the battery completely neg. and pos. sides. If you are able to touch the 2 cables together to ground them out. Just make sure the battery is completely disconnected. (extremely important). Then reconnect the battery and give it a try. If that doesn't work, you need to check your installation work. First disconnect your radio and test if everything goes back to normal.
Do You conect the ILL cable to anywhere? My hizpo radio flash the buttons when I switch double contact but I don’t turn on the engine, the buttons flash for 4 second and then stop, can You help me? The brand say to me: conect ILL cable with ACC red cable
eonon is the rebadge version of the vanilla head units that the chinese sell. You could get the same thing off aliexpress as I did. As one of the guys aluded to in the comments , you really do want to ensure that you get maximum rom and ram (4gb ram 64gb rom) for maximum speed and storage. You can contact eonon with your car specs and they will tell you what fits.

Hi nick .. do you have any experience how to install PQ8046BL ? is quite different.. but connectors may be alike. Any I email or number I could text to you?
Not really sure to be honest with u, youtube striked down the video because Oasis was playing on the radio. So the beats you hear are covering up the song.
Hi Nick! Great job! I have the same navi but I cannot set the steering wheel buttons like volume.I tried to set the canbus to bmw but I cannot find e46 in preset settings. Do you have this option or what should I do? Thank you!

The one I bought had 2gb ram and 16gb hard drive. I do wish, it had a larger hard drive, it's the best way to upload all of your music with album images.
Okay cool and do you think it's fast enough? I bought a Hizpo with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM for my E39 today. It arrives in about 10 days and some Guys told me That the Hizpo with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM ist crap 😅 And your Video is really very helpful just go on 💪🏼
@@carlosjackson1200 - Yes, it's very quick and the screen is very touch sensitive. The Music app doesn't work perfectly every time, I've noticed an issue when letting my music cycle on random. The navigation app works great, it's actually way better than my Ford's Navi. it's probably the best mod for your e39 or e46. Completely changes the interior of your car for sure.
@@nicklldoit Just for the record. I have the same setup as you but with 4gb and 64gb respectively. I have connected a 480gb SSD (solid state drive to it) so I have my full music collection a ton of full movies and still a massive amount of storage. Connect it via one of the usb connectors. It cannot be a traditional HD (hard disk) though as these will damage it as they are asking for too much power. An SSD is pure memory and barely drinks anything.
@@ServiceProcess I have a 64gb stick with musice and album images plugged into USB connection. I have since used the front ash tray for my USB connection. I cut out an area In the middle to fit it in.
@@Abqkqqpdbdb did u try to fit it without wires? Just to make sure it's not the wires doing it. You can even added some grease or something similar to the back side of the unit to trace what its hitting.
Tell me about it. Better yet, why can't Samsung not only make one but come up with their own operating system. They have the money to do so, I'm personally tired of being locked into everything Apple or Android.
Hi Nick. Do you (or anyone else that cares to answer) know if this unit (and similar Hipzo units) has the setting option to change the chime (boot up and indicator alarm) sound to a softer and or less irritating beep, beep, beep chime. Literally the one thing (ONE THING) I liked about the factory head unit is the soft harp like chime it makes when boot up and indicator alarms chime on.
@@dimaflorida9889 oh okay, I know exactly what you are talking about now. I had a 2007 e92, I do remember the harp sound. All I can say that under setting/ sound/ there is a system volume on mine. Sorry I couldn't help this time.
It all depends how you wire it in and what type of amp you are using. It may not be easy, since you need to tap into existing speaker wires etc. This setup ties into the factory amp in which tells you, yes it can be done.
@@unknownplauer9941 on my video around time 3:50. There are the wires in need to connect to. The blue amp wire is the remote turn on for your amp, run a wire from there to ur amp. Your RCAs connect to the harness. Run power from your positive battery connection to ur amp.
