you just made the first details video of aligned s85 camshaft, i never seen someone uploading such a great information . keep the good work, and hope to see more details in your next video
Hi. Great to have guys like you going through the issues. I have E60 M5 and has issues. Won't cold start without ether, after that fine but is down on power. Finally threw a fault code (27b6). What I would love from anyone out there is what your V10 sounds/sounded like before you pulled apart.
Maybe fuel pump issue? Or leak and fuel isn’t staying at injectors when powered down.? You would like to know what my car sounded like before it went bad?
Good video, been enjoying watching the build. Good on ya for being straight up about the cam switch around! BMW don’t make it easy for the English speaking with the markings- E= intake, A= exhaust 🙃
No they don’t 😬. And ya I figured at least it could be a valuable lesson to someone else about being extra careful. And thank you very much for the compliment, that means a lot coming from someone as knowledgeable as yourself!👍
@@Unintendedacceleration and there is one thing I'm shocked about... One your vanos gear need to be pulled out. All gears which i have need to be pushed in. Whay is that different?
Hi. Thanks for the great video. I put mine together about 2 months ago. Im having trouble with bank 1 exhaust camshaft out of timing. Planning on tearing apart again in the near future. Where are you located anyways?
@@Unintendedacceleration rattling and whining from the passenger side of the engine on the top front especially after I run it on the highway in California, had a code to replace the Vanos solenoids all 4 of them failed the test when we had the INSTA-D program run the tests
I wonder if you can look at DR. Vanos and price them in their site. I noticed a lot of his stuff is reasonably priced. I like fcp euro because they take back oil filters and everything lifetime.
Idk if you or anyone on here can help me but I have a 2006 E60 M5 and recently it didn’t start due to crankshaft position sensor fault I had then replaced them. Check engine light went away for like 2-3 days then came back up as the crankshaft position sensor again! Now it won’t start!
I ordered it from fcp euro and like I said replaced them and it worked really good I put probably 1k miles in 2-3 days then the code came back and now won’t start
Have you traced the wire all the way back to the connector? Did your crank sensor have an o-ring? Have you inspected the teeth on the flywheel with the sensor out? Also the rivets on the pressure plate are famous for coming off and causing havoc with crank position sensors. How did the sensor look when pulled?
Was going to do it the other day but I’m missing 2 chain tensioner guides that I had to order from BMW to get them faster. Next video will be soon everyone. Let me know if there is something else you want to see in the meantime.
Great video, thanks for it. I want to correct you that only exhaust cams have double vanos gears, inlets are single. Is there different which one of thease 3 gear bolts should look straight in that hole on cylinder head? And where you get info about that? Thanks
Yes you’re right, I noticed this after my video. Thanks for the input and happy thanksgiving. I got that info on bmwtis, it doesn’t specify which bolt and I believe it only has to do with installing the vanos adjustment unit. Sorry for the delay in my next video everyone...parts should be here Tuesday next week!!!😊
I know it’s killing me, my parts got delayed because of the holidays, some are coming from BMW and some are coming from ECS TUNING. We are getting close guys, I was looking at the tables I had mu cams and all other parts in and slowly but surely the tables are emptying. Sorry for the delay but believe me no one wants to get this back in the road more tha. I do!👍
Great video about the vanos! Can you explain how many rotations are needed or how can you tell that the exhaust cam spring has the right tension on it in order to screw in the back the temporary bolt for both of gears to line up? I didn't fully understood it from the video. Thanks!
