hi, congratulations on your modification to the BMW. I have had a new BMW Z4 E89 28M 8-speed automatic since 2013. I didn't buy the crusi control option, I later regretted it. I've seen several videos like yours. I bought a set of 3 levers (indicators - windshield wiper - cruis control) used on ebay for €50. Like new, removed from a BMW E90 series. My problem, and I ask for your help, is: what do I need to equip myself with (buy) to set up the software. 1) I bought a K+DCAN USB. 2) But which software should you buy to put it on a notebook and then do as you do, the software changes on the notebook, for the E89 Z4 control unit? Thanks for your help!
Hello BMW E91 2006, is the coding the same in the 3 series with an Autel computer, all the same functions as in the video must be selected, I have a car without cruise control, factory-installed as in the video and I have multifunctions, I would be grateful for the answer, best regards, and whether the spider (lever assembly) needs to be found after Best regards, numbers
Helllo, Does it matter that my new szl with cruisecontrol has the automatic wiper option? My car 2007 e81 does not have the automatic wiper options. Can i swap the sticks? It looks like you did the same in your video. And does it require additional coding? Thanks
I have a bmw e90 320d and I have done the same installation, I would like to know if to code it you have to follow exactly the same steps? Because after choosing the cruise I see that you choose a few more options. I don't understand much about the subject and I was wondering if you could clarify. Thank you! Watching the video again I see that you have certain other errors. I would really only be interested in coding the cruise control because I have lost access to the steering wheel controls. sorry for my translator english
If you have lost functions, you probably have a wrong module installed. Normally the retrofit consist of 2 parts, the mechanical installation of the cruise control stalk and then the coding. The first part is pretty straightforward, basically you install the cruise control stalk to your car. In the second part you code it to your vehicle. Imagine it as you are installing software on your pc let's say for a new controller that you have bought. The principle is the same. You need to let the car know that there a new module installed and how to control it. So you need to add it as an option then you need yo code 3modules which will be communicating with it. That's why you have seen me coding different modules than the cruise control module only. Hope it all makes sense. If you have any further questions feel free to ask them 😉✋
Brilliant video. I’ve got the parts to do this on my e88 123d I’m wondering about the error messages etc when you fit the new cruise hardware- it’s going to be about 7-10 days between the day I can fit it all with my friend helping to bring able to get it coded- I’m worried the car will be in some way undrivable…. Any advice? Thanks
You have the SZL module or the squibb ring (both are the same thing) from a different chassis than your car for example you have a 1series and have the module from the 3 series or vice versa and you have kept your old stalk ant that's why it is not working.
Hello It is wonderful video. Thanks for it. I have Bmw 116i 2009 model. I would like to retrofit cruise control but I need stalk units. Where can i buy it? isn´t it possible to just buy a cruise control stalk and stick it into the original piece? I will be really glad if you can help me.
@Emin Karakavak Hello, thank you. You can buy it from ebay. You have to get the squib ring with the cruise control function, the steering wheel cowl and finally you have to code it to your car. The stalk is not enough because you don't have space for it on your current squib ring.
Hello what is the name of the program you used for coding? And did you resolve all the errors since the handbrake was lighten up in the drive as I see it? Thanks in advance.
I used my autel diagnostic tool for coding, but you can use a laptop with ISTA. The handbrake wasn't lit up because the retrofit, but because a break pad wear sensor. But yeah, all the errors were gone after the retrofit. You only need to reset the steering angle sensor after the retrofit.
hello I send you a message from France, because today we mounted a cruise control on BMW X5 e70 from the end of 2007 and we all coded in 544 but the regulator still does not work. you have a solution for us please
@@MrNiceGuy94 we installed cruise control on a late 2007 BMW X 5 e70. We coded the whole car to 544 even flashed the engine ECU and coded the counter. and the regulator does not want to activate. However, when you pass it over the suitcase, it appears well and even when you check the controls, the regulator works.
I guess you translate to English and for that reason something is not clear in what you are writing. Send me the original message in French so that I can translate it for myself. Also, did you code the SZL,KOMBI and DSC modules?
@@davidnunes7750 the cruise control works I believe over 20MPH. Maybe the cruise control module is faulty. I can't see why that shouldn't be working if you have done everything right. Maybe you can try to send me a video on what you have done and how you coded it and showing it is not working.
