Dope! I had a feeling the new calipers could be a direct bolt on with no adapters needed! Very cost effective compared to my plan, made adapters to fit some very popular new brembos that come on the alfas and Teslas 🤫
Thanks for this guide. I just made the mod on my 323ci, bored the disc center on a lathe, and used 0.9mm M12 washer. No way to use the disc holder hole, it's not aligned with the hub. Fits without spacer on my 18" rims. But it feels like the stock brakes lines are a bit short (at least when the car is jacked up). Have you notice that ? How is yours holding so far ? (I used Aftermarket calipers though)
Yes you can. You will be left with a 5mm dust ring and a very expensive rotor to replace in the future. Approx. 100€ for VW(pair) vs 300€ each for the CSL rotor.
Or is the only issue that the caliper is further out which might clash with the inside face of the wheel ? Did you try to fit e90 335i calipers before this ?
Hi I can get a set of 4,, 435d xdrive un painted calipers with the original disks 340s will these fit or do i need transporter disks e46 non m3 Cheers 👌
Why did the style 68 rims no fit? which ones fronts? rears? is it due to spacing in terms of 17 inch diameter so the wheel hits the top of the caliper or the side of the caliper where it meets the spokes of the wheels?
Great video, thank you! Do I really need 6.44mm caliper spacer for Z4 E85 non M model? I always thought E46 and E85 had identical front brake setup and E46 has listed 0.9mm spacer in the video .
@@mykekfz6204 I just installed this kit on my E85 and it fits like a glove! On my particular application, spacer between knuckle and caliper should be around 1.5mm to perfectly center brake disc in the caliper, but I guess it depends on the tolerances of the disc and wheel hub manufacturer (I used ATE disc). Anyway, it works great, thank you very much again for figuring out of this combo :) Are you by any chance planning to look at the rear brakes?
@@josefmrkvicka9447i think 1.5MM is too much and it wont fit Brand new pads. the Z4(E84/E86) uses the exact spindle as all non m e46s. With brand new pads and VW 340MM (centerbore machined) Disc it wont work. Unless you got something else.
Thank you for this video!! Tried so hard to find a forum thread that I thought RU-vid would be hopeless. Do you think the 370mm front discs (same front calipers) would fit in an 18inch style 32 (e36)
@@mykekfz6204 thanks for the reply. Will be doing in the near future, already got the 18' style 32's...... I'm planning on putting the matching Fxx rear 2 pot calipers on too, what are your thoughts on fitting? Happy to replace the rear hubs as want new bearings anyway
you dont even need shims. if you use theses discs as in the video, you have to bring them to the machine shop anyways. so ask them to machine out the inside of the hub the amount required. They can be made to sit perfectly centre without any shims as the hub material is 3mm thicker than OEM so gives you plenty of room

nice. If you can get away with a 20mm spacer with your wheels. you can use the F Series M Sport 340mm Discs, then enlarge the Spacers center bore to 8cm and put the spacer behind the disc and its all BMW OEM parts Slightly better maintenance wise as you dont need to keep getting Discs modified Like i did here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z1MX5lvMrz8.html no need to add washers to space the calipers either.
@@TheNikolius watch my video :) everything Seats together, lines up and works perfect. you can get 3d printed hub rings if your super conscious about center alignment. but all good for me.
This is false information. The blue calipers can either be 370 or 340. I listed the correct part numbers in the video. And if you didn't watch the video then here are the correct "blue" 340mm calipers part #. 3411679945 and 34116799466
