Beautiful! LCI tail lights always spice up the rear of any PRE LCI F30 bmw. Super thorough step-by-step instructions I’m sure hundreds of people will appreciate this DIY video. Shoutout to F80 ho for hooking it up ✊🏽 tho
Lawnmower strikes again 🤣🤣🤣👏🏽. The LCIs compliment heidi so well, and definitely updated the rear end 🔥. Glad we worked it out man, win win for both 💯. I hs hella mess ups as well when I filmed my install lol. You also made being a RU-vid electrician look easy
You may have done it off camera but don’t forget to check all functions before reinstalling everything. Will save you big headaches. Lol Great video as always man!
VERY HELPFUL VIDEO and Great detail not like 99% of the videos out there that skip half of the stuff! Next please make a headlight upgrade video its a bit harder but would make for great content especially if you do it in detail like this one
Some people noted issues with the inner / bumper blinkers not working. I had the same issue and it’s from the wire splice not getting a good connection. Take a razor blade to lightly expose the copper wire and make your connection on the exposed wire. If this doesn’t work, make sure the metal piece you plug into the wire splice is actually inside the connector, it can slide under and not make any connection.
I actually had a bad experience with an installer. I dug my wiring and noticed he tapped right side brake wiring across to the left brake line.. Now I'm getting left brake light failure. The original wire has no power coming from it. Anyone can advise how do I go bout this? Local coders are charging a bomb for a fix..
Did they swap the leads? I know you have to change wires around in the harness to get it right. Was it coded out correct as well? So many things could be the problem.
I did not replace any guards. My friend took his directly of his F80 and shipped them to me so didn't even think about it. I ended up going back to Pre-LCI due to an electrical issue I thought they caused, but it happens with the Pre-LCI too so just have not put them back on yet.
Hey I know this video was from a year ago but will a 2016 BMW 340i LCI tail lights work on my 2014 F30 335i?? I have the harness already. Thanks in advance!
Hi, did you have any problems coding with bimmercode so far? Also is it required to go into Expert mode to code or can I just change all the taillights to LED?
I have never had an issue coding with bimmercode the three years I have been doing it. No need for expert mode there is an actual LCI conversion activation option and a menu for all the settings to activate in the rear module menu. I go over them toward the end of the video.
EAS I assume you mean European auto stores here in California correct? My buddy just gave me some oem LCI’s he bought off of EAS and they came with the harness but are these just straight drop in’s for my 2015 or do i need that scotch lock?
EAS is European Auto Source online. Depends on what type it is, plenty of aftermarket ones out there that have their own harness. True BMW OEM ones from a 2016+ being retrofitted to 2015 will need it. EAS sales tail lights that already come with the harness, but the scotch lock is still needed for them.
@@CarsWithKeav OK good to know because I got a pair off my buddy that he purchased off of EAS and it came with the harness but I don’t have the scotch thing. lowkey i’m scared to take those pins out and switch them in case it doesn’t work, let me ask you this if I don’t use the scotch thing will just the turn signals not work? Or will the whole taillight not work?
I installed OEM lci taillights on my F30 with these wires. My left blinker doesn’t light up properly. The bottom part lights up not the top where the blinker is supposed to light. I’ve been looking for help but haven’t gotten anywhere. Would you be able to help?
