For people that are looking for good led blinkers for a Bmw GS 800; you can buy secondhand bmw f900 2019 blinkers. BMW uses them on many bikes like the nine-t. It's way better looking than the standard led option for the GS 800. No problems with the cam-bus or fast blinking. 5 minutes install with no removal of any fenders!!!

Ha ha ha love your description of the original one's as 'huge' if you seriously think those are big look at some of the 70s and 80s Japanese bikes, the indicators are like saucers 😂

I guess size is relative 😆, I just saw a guy complaining because the indicators on the Kawasaki z900rs aren't big enough compared to the old z1 🤷🏻‍♂️😆👍

Albe, I think original turn signals are not ugly at all and such replacing is not required. Original muffler - oh, yes, the first thing to be replaced. But turn signals - good question. Besides, those newly installed turn signals are rather small compared to the bike's size, so they look like toys.

Hey, nice video as always. I think that u can switch the electronics of the bmw to know it has led turn signals connected, so that way you can skip adding the resistors. If you have a gs911 or any other kind of OBD like device la MotoScan it's a setting of the Central Chassis Electronics. My f800gs already came with led turn singnals but I remember seeing the option somewhere in there. Keep up the good work.

I was thinking the same thing, so I did connect motoscan to it, but I couldn’t find that setting, I’ll go take another look. 👍

The signals from yamaha r6 for the fairing will fit in the bmw fairing .

I have to get this done too, I'm just annoyed by BMW using different connectors on their OEM LED indicators, I don't exactly want to strip the wire of them since I paid 200 bucks.

What size were the resistors as I am interested on doing this to my GS. Wattage isn’t important as it’s just to cope with the current draw. It’s the ohms that I need. Thanks

I believe the black ones are 27 ohms while the gold ones are 6 ohms

Thanks. Love all the content on the GS too. I have a F700GS which shares most of the same parts. My next purchase is going to be the obd link lx you recommended so I can service the bike myself (following your servicing guide of course).

Hi, based on the incandescent lamp value of 10 watts, you will need a resistance of 14.4 ohms. The nearest standard sizes are13 and 15 ohms. The resistor will be installed in parallel with the LED lamp. As the LED will draw some current I would go for the 15 ohms. You may want to consider the wattage as well in case of prolonged running such as when using the emergency flashers. In that case you would need approx 10 watt resistors. The nearest standard sizes are 5 watt and 25 watt. So go for the 25 watt for safety. Hope this helps.

Just got it working using 25ohm resistors as calculated. Was 10w bulb and going to approx 2w LED. That’s 8w left to mimic. 8/14v (running voltage) = 0.57A and 14v / 0.57 = 25 ohm. Bought 10w resistors and due to the correct higher resistance they barely get warm. LED’s flash at that right speed too.

I'm just not sure why you would want to replace turn signals that people can see...for those small "led"s. Isn't the point that you get seen?

Hi Anthony, the OEM signals are bigger, but the LEDs are brighter so in theory the brighter ones are more visible....now if only we could get car drivers to pay attention...🤯
