BMW G30 Diffuser Removal and Installation

Here is a video of my '18 530e M-Sport with a gloss black diffuser.
I believe it is M-Performance carbon fibre styled, but in gloss black. Got it from www.vogueautomotive.com/produ...
because I can't justify paying three times the price for OEM equivalent when the fitment is 9/10, very impressed.
Finish overall is very good, 9/10 because there are some rough patches of paint on the underside of the diffuser, we'll see how the gloss black finish withstands harsh Norwegian winters
Installation is pretty straight forward, undo the 8mm screws at each bottom corner of the OEM diffuser, undo the 5 or so 8mm screws in the middle of the underside and then yank it out. The clips holding it in place will let go, start from the bottom left corner and work your way to the right side. 10 screws!
To install the new diffuser you just have to get it to clip into place and put the screws back in. If you have a hard time, try bending the clips up a little it'll make it easier for them to catch on to the bumper.

Looks amazing I have done it’s to my g30 also I recommend you to change the boot spoiler will look amazing makes the car more aggressive and with a lip on front bumper

Great video and that color is amazing, did it come pre painted or did you have that done. I have the 530E with a M package yet the diffuser is still not as aggressive as this one so I'll switch it out. Question which wheel set is that those are nice is it a 19" ?

Awesome video and just finished up thanks to you! So how did you end up with 3 screws left? If the plastic shield is not used shouldn't it be 8 screws left? Thanks for the help!

Sorry for late msg. Its because og the undershield that you dont need anymore. So your left with 3 screws ekstra. Its the 3 under the shield. And 7 that fits abowe.

Hey! Good to know😊👊🏻 its superb quality! Yeah as long as u dont have the towbar. There should be bo problem with the fitment. It took about 20-30 mins to install it. I have 20 inch wheels with HRE lowered suspension. Check out my other videos😊👍

I was waiting for this video. I noticed my right corner above the exhaust is popped out. I can’t push it in. I heard you say push in the corners first and then the mid section?

Hi m8 im happy my video help you guys!:) the best way is to start from the left corner, then the right corner, and the last in the middle. That way it will fitt the best way and u can double check if the clips are all inn.

Thanks! Yes this will fit the lci also, but not if you have a towbar.

You can use any tool you want for the job, feks star socket set will do the job, and a pryer tool

Hello car raw, when you unscrew the bolts under the genuine rear diffuser, a plastic piece is falling (the great plastic piece in the center under the genuine diffuser) This piece I don't have to re install on the new diffuser? Then when you unscrewed the 10 bolts I have to use a special tool to release clips on the diffuser? What the first thing to do after unscrewed the 10 bolts under the genuine diffuser? Thks cause don't want to break clips

Hello mr! The plastic that is unscrewed after the 10 screws, is not needed anymoore after installing the new diffuser. And releasing the clips. Just use a plastic pryer😊👍

@@carraw5833 I didn't see the plastic part on my genuine diffuser. I see a great part i' black plastic. I removed the old diffuser but let in place this black plastic part. I put the m5 style aftermarket (like your) but I got problem to fix the upper right slots tabs. They slide out cause need to push very strong to hold the diffuser but can't fix this problem. I had to put some tape around the upper right slot tabs corner to get a better fixation otherwise I got the upper right corner sliding out. I can send a pic here but don't know how to do Regards

Fitment is 99%! Realy good one! The gap is because og the exhaust tip is a bit to small. Best way is to change it with twin exhaust tips👌

I'm talking at the mating lines near the PDC sensors.. I ordered the A/C Schnitzer brand. Pricey but perfect fitment. 4 inch powder coated exhaust tips.. Mine is the Sport version with all feature. Napa leather..tne whole works..

Hei det kommer helt ann på difuseren du kjøper, noen er laget for biler med hengerfeste, andre passer dessverre ikke. Dette må man sjekke med leverandøren av diffuseren før man bestiller😊

hi thanks for the video I have the same part, but the exhaust tips are a little bit inside, I didn't remove the part you removed, so maybe that's why?

The part must be removed for fitting 100% or else it will push it ouside and ur exhaust tips will look like that

No that part is not necessary anymoore, and can just be saved if you want go back to OEM.

@@cinarilgaz9537 i understand. I dont think its to much diffrent under, this smal piece is the one, and i think the side panels inside the bumper also could be diffrent. The ones on the sides

@@carraw5833 your right to be honest i dont get the point of it, because many G30 especially M sport dont have this panelling underneath, yet all the standard ones do, and the guy at bmw told me dont remove them! 🙈
