With the BS6 update, the 2020 BMW G 310 GS is far more refined, offers better performance and is Rs 65,000 cheaper than the BS4 model. Now, with this update, do you think it is a better alternative to the KTM 390 Adventure? Do let us know in the comments below.
@Karthik people with chapri minded don't see everything as chapri they think they are cool but people with class don't like chapri people and i have class, dude grow up.
@@HighwayToHill yes as a Brand KTM is definitely a super bike brand.. but if you ask your parents may be they also say they don't like KTM only because of these charpris ... who ride it very wrongly on public road ..
“It can handle mild trails really well” The word “mild” can be misleading for a new biker. Unless you are keen to make crazy jumps with it over rocks, it can handle any trail out there. It is a very capable machine.
@@sanjitshetye6293 That is irrelevant. Companies outsource production and they decide what sort of quality control is required. The BMW 850GS is a well renowned bike. But the engine is made by a Chinese company. However nobody has problems with the 850 engine and people have praised its performance and longevity. Apple phones are made in China by the same company that makes cheap handsets as well.
@@brendonfernandes2877 bro i m talking about tvs specifically...and to be precise i m talking about rr310 and GS... They are not not upto the mark Poor finishing quality... engine make too much noise... service cost is too much high...poor reasle value...
Cruising speed is not just whether the engine is stressed or not but also whether there are vibes and the bike gets vibey around the 5k rpm mark. My bike can cruise at 120 kph at just 6k rpm but my bike gets very vibey at around the 4k rpm mark so I prefer to cruise at 80 kph which is just below the 4k rpm mark in order to ensure vibrations are limited and I can ride for longer duration.
I have been closely following this bike. The exhaust note is fairly decent! Plus while considering service, don't just say it's expensive and you do it for bmw logo. No! You do it coz it is once in 10,000 km and the quality of parts are top notch and last you longer than KTM and Himalayan. In case parts still bother you, you can get inferior parts from outside as well.
Well if you spend ₹10k every 10000 kms then your operation cost increases by 1Rs per km. If you really think of putting inferior parts on a beamer then there is no point buying it and paying a premium of 1 lakh rupees over the Himalayan which you can use for gears & touring for at least 1 year.

A BMW GS 500 with 60+ bhp and a torque to match it, a full color tft screen with Bluetooth connectivity and priced between 4-4.5 lakh would be an amazing product. 😍😍
@@TheRyukDG I bought 310GS. If budget issues then go for RE. Bot are very different machines. Direct comparison is bit odd. Totally depends upon purchaser's requirements.
@@suthardhaval9 how? Wouldn't you classify both as Adv tourers? Budget issue is to reach a Triumph Tiger or. Versys. I could however reach a BMW GS 310 or a KTM 390 Adv. Would love to hear your perspective on why you wouldn't put the Himalayan and the GS310 in the same class.
@@TheRyukDG Himalayan is good bike but heavy for me and has reliability issues n look is just ok. I checked KTM but didn't liked its fit n finish and quality of parts, hard suspension n seat, didn't like height n looks, bottom torque is dead. Tested 310GS, engine bit viby at high RPM. But bottom n mid is fantastic and smooth. Amazing suspension, best riding comfort and gives premium parts n feel and classy looks. Service is best. So bought GS310. Also, showed 310gs n 390ADV to my friends n family before buying. Everyone rejected KTM but loved BMW. This is their feedback according what they saw in showroom.
@@suthardhaval9 Thanks so much for the input that's a lot of really good info. Also - where in India are you at if you don't mind and what was the actual on road cost for it?

There's no comparison but somehow i feel Himalayan is good package with touring kit and still u save the money for good riding gears and ur trips, if u r happy with 80-100kmph cruising speed
I don't know why are you complaining about the fuel tank. The bike has 11 liters and it burns 3.3L/100 KM on paper, even if it's 4L/100 KM, you will go for atleast 280 KM with those 11 liters. There are gas stations literally everywhere. After 280 KM riding in a tour, you will need to take a rest anyway. Someone said that it costs 8000 rs for every 10K km, which in my currency is around 90 euros, that is expensive ? LOL ! Ever owned a car ? 😂
They have reduced the price, but they have compromised too much on quality. I am selling mine just after buying it 4 months back. Alternator isn’t working, battery doesn’t charge. Spare parts not available readily. Their service interval of 10000 kms is a joke. This bike should be serviced at least around 4,000 kms. It’s a 310cc bike and BMW expects us to pay 8,000 Rs. every time we take it to a service center. Also, it rusts like hell.
Like mine. Issues: inconsistent throttle and either finding first or neutral. But! Perfect getting back into riding bike! Oh! Left side mirror refuses to stay fixed lol
@@nitishk873 Mysticrider Pratheek and his wife extensively tour on that so I don't think it's bad. I don't know him personally but he claims to cruise at speeds comfortably above 100 kmph.
Yeah, All okay but only if they could keep up with the orders. Pre-ordered one back in october. Still both the dealer i.e osl prestige kolkata and BMW motorrad India Itself don't have the slighest idea when They'll be able to deliver! Premium brand you say, Doesn't feel premium after this abysmal experience!
@@KevinDaken dude i do mumbai to goa 600kms on yamaha R3 with just 1 stop for food , rest to top up fuel , can easily ride 4 to 5 hours non stop ,that was my personal opinion if you cant do that bad luck for you
