What an amazing bike. The warranty offered by BMW shows the faith they have in this engine and should provide some confidence to the prospective owner. Racing at this level will never be cheap, but that doesn’t mean people can’t aspire to it. Also, I’m glad you’ve reviewed this ‘out of most people’s reach’ bike as it’s only a matter of time until tech such as this filters down and it gives us an insight into the future. Great video guys, really been looking forward to it. Sad at the same time knowing I’ll never own one, although...maybe in 3-5 years this kind of spec will start to trickle down to their sensibly priced models! Until then I’ll be happy with my ‘17 R1.

Well Well. Great video. Of all the killer bikes you men have had the honor of sampling, it appears that we have come face to face with Jizzimus Maximus! I can only imagine what a rush that machine was to ride. Given Al's resume I was a bit surprised to hear him go on like that. It still makes me wonder why BMW refuses to bring a factory effort back to the world stage. By this, of course I am referring to WSBK. They got spanked a bit there. We won't even mention MotoGP. However, the argument can be made that this bike more than holds its own when you look at the TT, Macau and other series. Seems to me like they would make things much more interesting today in WSBK with this monster. Thanks again, guys! This was a blast to watch.

You should buy one. Base it on a special HP4/44 sticker sales campaign. For every sticker sold the buyer gets a ticket in the hat to join you two on a season of track days. Would also be a hell of a video series.

I just did a couple weekends as a BMW lead guide for some road test days and one guy had 3.. I shit you not! He flew in in his chopper to the showroom at Reiten Motorad in Essex. It was brought over by, Focused Events. I fell in love without even hearing it start up 😂
I actually missed seeing Nate Kern’s bike at Jennings. A month before his got stolen in Amarillo Texas but he got it back with both of his Nine-T’s and most of his stuff.
What a bike! The traction control (cutting the spark I imagine) sounds awesome. And I have to say, even though we always see it in those videos, Fagan's helmet looks great. So, does the Ducati Superleggera even compare?
Who would have thought a wardrobe on 4 wheels manufacturer would one day make a 2 wheeled scalpel? LOL head for the black stuff/track just like what I aimed for when landing my warplane on the long thin runway and believe it or not the runway felt like it had a bend at speed, lmao, love the buzz and videos lads.

I'm glad you mentioned the RC213V, I'm really curious to know what you guys think comparing the two. Is the hp4 race even better than the track version 215hp RC213V? That's basically a gp machine. Please do video of the rc213v if you can. Regarding Valia's time, that was on a stock V4, not the S model and with stock exhaust? . I rode the v4 stock and a V4s with the factory akra 226hp on track and the difference is huge. 6kg less and 12hp makes a big difference. I wonder what Valia would have done on a V4S with akra. Given he basically developed that bike so it's like his child. If reitenberger just hopped on the hp4 and set that lap that's nutty. I guess the question is, is the Hp4 race better than a V4S with Akra, race body work, and say carbon wheels? I imagine that would lower the weight to 390lbs wet? What's the wet weight of the hp4?
I'm most interested to hear how does the bike corner since this bike is without the adaptive trickery of the R1M and V4S. Does this bike prove that stuff is basically redundant on the track and it's mainly just for the road?
Upon deciding to build the S1000 RR, BMW looked to the K5 for their inspiration. It was at the time, leagues ahead of its opposition. So good in fact, that even today it can hold its own against almost any other bike, on the road. The original S thou was nothing more than a more developed K5. Which of course, meant it was fantastic.

LOL NO but I was just saying that 1000cc sportbikes that can actually go around a track (unlike a busa) did not have anywhere close to that much power until the S1000rr, Nor electronics (abs, tractions control, anti-wheelie), as far as production liter bikes though. Like I said I was agreeing that they stole alot from the K6. I really like the k6 gixxer. I am NOT a fan boy. I am just saying I am glad they went balls out and made the S1000rr because it forced other manufacturers to step their games up! If you dont believe me look up HP figures, electonic gadgets, brakes and other specs for 2010 literbikes. S1000rr shits all over them. RIP
@JezBollah 667 I mean they own the sportbike market especially back in the early 2000s... who else would they copy off of? They had NEVER made a true sportbike before so they were obviously going to have to start somewhere.
