Thats it because i have same problem in my bmw m6 , i changed ips but problem still , i take it to workshop and he change model in dash that was main control of all electric system in my car , now every thing is normal.
I’m getting the same message for my 2012 550i x drive but the difference is mine won’t start up!!! I had a small coolant hose blow and I fixed it but now I can’t get it to crank. Could coolant gotten down on my starter or maybe my alternator?
In virtually ALL of these videos you guys talk about the battery discharging either overnight or when the car is shut off. But why does no one mention or diagnose when the battery dies while driving??? Same discharging message, same ‘drive longer distances’ message, but twice now all the systems started shutting down within 5mins of these messages. Thankfully I keep a jump starter and battery charger in the car. But is this also a sign of bad alternator? Replaced AGM battery and got it programmed so it’s new. Not even a few days later messages popped up again and systems shut down and car shut down WHILE driving. Please advise!???
Hi Christian, I also wonder why they dont diagnose battery dying while driving. Did you ever figure it out? Im having the same problem. Its so hard to get an honest mechanic and all the mobile ones have been flakes or charge $200 for a diagnosis and still don't fix anything. Please reply when you can.
@@tazmaniandiva7762 should know this week! Believe it or not I hardly drive it since I have 2 other vehicles but I bought an alternator and took car to repair shop yesterday.. They said it only takes a few hours to change so I should have it back today or whenever I get a chance to go by there
I have gotten the same message on my bmw last week but it was -8 degrees outside at night so the next morning it was -2 degrees outside but the message never came back on
I just drove the car but less than about 1 month later I needed a new battery and it wasn't cheap it was 450.00 and had to be coded to my car yes I got it done at the stealership
Having similar issue, battery still new and was registered, IBS is less than a month old. But while I driving I get that sometime and caused everything else to shit off and wont start until like 30 minutes after. Not sure if it's the alternator because I unplug the negative cable after the car is start and drive the car like that for miles and nothing happened. Any idea?
You alternator is dead my friend. Your car is running on battery. You need a new alternator. It should be 14v with the car running. And 12 to 13volts with engine off.
@@franciscoamayaYT No I got an aftermarket battery. I haven't drove the car in 3 months so I am guessing it needs to be driven for the alternator to charge up the battery?
Will like to confirm this. I got increase battery discharge two times now. a friend did a scan and said its my Intelligent Battery Sensor. He said it could still be my battery. I don't want to replace the wrong one. I did your test and getting 12.5 with the car off and 14.2 something like thatI with the car running. Do you think it's my IBS ?
+Dwane Smith Yes, with the ignition off the voltage should be around 12.5v but you need to test the battery voltage with the ignition on, engine off and the battery voltage should be around 12.1 if the battery voltage goes lower than 11.9v when you switch the ignition on engine off you have a bad battery 🔋
+Dwane Smith Ok, you need to check the battery voltage with the ignition on engine off (in other words do not start the engine just do not press the brake pedal when you switch the ignition on) And then you need to check the battery voltage it should be at least 12.1 volts
+Donny Djojoatmodjo Yes, but you can use it only when the ignition is on. To read the voltage when the ignition is off still you need a voltmeter to manually read the voltage of the battery.
Hello I Have A 6Series & It Says "Charging Malfunction" & "Increased Battery Discharged" It Will Only Start With A Jump & All My Lights On The Dash Came On B4 The Car Completely Died. I'm Thinking Alternator Or IBS Sensor Idk. Just Trying To Figure Out B4 I Have To Go To Dealership Alternator $1,500 & IBS Is $500. Any Feed Back Is Amazing
hey i have been watching all your bmw 750li videos because i want to buy a used 2009-2011 750li. What would you say are the main things to check before i buy? thanks.
If the Check engine light on Oil leaks Oil in coolant Coolant in oil Tailpipe excessive smoke Rims condition Front Control arm Transmission Engine noise Engine temperature If any warning light is on Condition of the interior Electronic system fully functional A/C Miles Etc,....
please help!! 2011 750li Bmw. I took my car to the dealership because I was getting a low battery. They put in a new battery but now I'm getting but know I am getting" vehicle battery charge low". I took it back to them bit know they want to charge me 2000.00 for a new alternator.. and they are not even sure if that's the problem. is there a way to check to see if it's the sensor or alternator?
+Laura Castillo Yes, the best way to check it out will be to see the battery voltage when the engine is running with a multimeter and then check the battery voltage with a bmw diagnostic tool to compare the battery voltage and see where is the problem. I am in Fontana CA, if you are near I can check it out for you.
Francisco Amaya Thank you.. I wish I was close.. I'm in Texas... I connected it and the it says 12.50 and then when I start the car it's goes up.. 13.47.... oh I forgot to tell you the car only does it when I'm in traffic... when it first starts up there is no warning light..
+Laura Castillo Oh I see. Ok, the battery voltage look fine. Are the efficient Dynamics working when you are braking? The blue little bar than is next to the mpg guage below the speed o meter.
Yes, do it. The battery registration is very important to extend you new battery life. The BMW X5 E70 does not have efficiency Dynamics so the battery is fully charged by the alternator.
hi bro, i get the increased battery discharge message on my 335i bmw sometimes. some days its fine i dont get any message.. i dont drive the car match only 2 times a week. is it possible because i dont drive the car much thats why battery charge is low??
Yes, it is possible. During the time the BMW is off it needs some battery energy to maintain memories and setting, if you don't turn the engine on the battery voltage will drop significantly. If the battery voltage gets lower than 12 volts at the moment you start the engine the computer will set the increased battery code on. It is possible that you have a weak battery too. I suggest to start the engine once a week if you don't drive it but if the ambient temperature is low I suggest to start the engine more than twice a week.
thank you for your reply. today i drove the car and i didnt get increased battery discharge . if it is weak battery i should have get the warning light each time i start the car.l is that correct?
Hi Francisco I have a 2012 bmw 750li twin. Turbos, the ac blows cold air but it only throws a little air, I have changed ac blower and blower resistor, the battery is stock 2012, and it has increased battery discharged. What could it be
I just bought a 2011 750I with 81,435 miles and like all the rest of them it burns oil like crazy. Five quarts in 1000 miles and it doesn’t smoke or leak a drop. One owner car very well taken care of with all service records and oil changes every 9,000-10,000 miles. Wish someone would put down the top five causes of this in the N63 engine. PCV Valve Guide Seals Piston Rings Turbo Seals Plugged Turbo Oil Return Line In what order should I start the battle?
Bart Lawhorn 5 Quarts is too much, when you get the message “add one quarts” just take it to a BMW dealer, there is a good chance they will fix the problem for free under the Customer Care Package.
Hi Francisco, When replacing the battery the mechanic advised he needs to ground alternator or reset computer .... I'm not sure ..Also is the AMG battery the recommended one here ..?
Use AGM batteries, this prevents corrosion in your batteries terminals. Check my video BMW F01/F02 battery replacement for details ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e8wgPOWJ3Pw.html
I have been getting the "Increased Battery Discharge" warning lately. I just did your test and It was: 11.62 Engine & Ign off 12.33 Engine off Ign On 15.22 Engine Running That voltage while running is slightly high...could it be the ALT or IBS?
The engine off, ignition off voltage is lower than engine off, ignition on voltage. That is not normal, normally the engine off, ignition on voltage is lower than engine off, ignition off, for example. Engine off, ignition off @ 12.5 volts Engine off, ignition on @ 12.1 volts Check your battery voltage again when the engine is cold in the morning and compare it to this measurements you just did. Anyway, you alternator voltage is too high, it could be overcharging your battery or the battery is too weak. Do you car has efficient Dynamics?
Thanks for the reply, appreciate it! By Efficientdynamics, are you referring to the auto start stop of the engine at lights etc? It doesn't have that, if so.
