Kim, just an FYI for those with Grand America models. I have a 2019 GA and it comes with both front and rear speakers. Not thinking about what you mentioned around the 8:10 mark, when I clipped the wires per the instructions, on the GA model, it only turns off the front speakers. I freaked out thinking I screwed it up. I called Motochello and at first, the guy was like, Oh! But then he suggested the Fader on the bike. So with the setup, and instructions they include for now, use the fader so it sends audio to only the front speakers, effectively muting the rears. This also gives you audio, if needed, with the Motochello set to "ear buds". Also, in the trunk there is a bike powered plug that I used to power the Sena. I got the USB adapter and ran the line out of the box (it doesn't get pinched when the lid is shut) and down the front of trunk and then under the grab rail to keep it in place, and then down and under the plastic, under the brace for the amp/xm unit and to the pocket where the Sena is. Thanks again for your video, helped me fix a problem that shouldn't need fixing and BMW shoulld correct.
glad to hear it! I wasnt sure about the other wires...And I never got around to seeing it they were actually for the rear speakers. Good to know the GA has them. I have a friend with a GA, I'll have to ask him about that.
Hello! Thanks for this video! I have a BMW K 1600GT 2012. I want to be able to listen to music, talk on the intercom with my passenger and hear the GPS directions at the same time! Is it possible with this setup, and what additional equipment do I need? Thanks!
Just so that Im clear. Does the montochello unit allow you to blue tooth music to the bike from a phone? If so, and the wonder wheel can be used to adjust the volume, can the wonder wheel also be used to track up or down the music? I do not have nor plan on getting a gps unit. My interest is only to stream music to the bike from a phone.
Kim, how exactly do the posi-taps work? I read the instructions on Motochello's site and they say to strip the wires being connected. I thought they self-tapped? Thanks, Bob
they unscrew into 2 pieces. ONe piece, the brown part, pushes up and touches the wire with a little pin. the top part then screws down and foreces the pin t5o cut through the outer sheathing. then the top screws off and slieds over the other wire. then you screw it down and it makes the connection inside with the bare wire. NO cut splice.

i sold the bike, but several of my members on the K1600 group have used it and it works well, infact one of our members sold his 2016, bought a 2021 and did the same thing on it.
yes, it should be identical. I made this before the B was available, Just verify the bundle I isolated in the video and follow the Motochello wiring diagram.
I have done the upgrade exactly as you did. I have a K1600GTL with a Nav V and Sena 20S headsets (2 up), a Note 8 android phone and an Ipod classic that I would like to use with the included aux usb cable included in the right storage compartment on the bike. What pairing steps do I take?? THANKS
I Use a 32GB flash drive plugged into the USB port in the right side compartment. I just select USB on the menu and it plays through the system, so i would assume it should work the same way with a phone or other USB device.
Yes, you have full capability of the bikes audio functions! The radio still thinks its outputting to the speakers, did you watch part 2? its a link in the final seconds of this video. And you can still setup your phone to the GPS and use all of that in any headset...mine is the Sena 20S.
