The reason they sell the M4 without the M-Performance Exhaust is because the louder sound is not for everyone. Most normal people who buy an M4 actually buy it without the upgrade.

Could be because many places like California have exhaust regulations and having an exhaust like that could be “illegal” as they might be too loud or emissions

@@ryan_bear1340 No, all M Performance parts are accessories separately sold. You can spec your car with them when you order it at the dealer, but if you ordered a base M3 Competition it would have the standard exhaust. Similiar to how the M Performance splitter/side skirt/diffusor/spoiler are all sold as "after market" parts. Met a nice lady with a new G80 M3 Competition yesterday, her car also had the standard exhaust. Still sounded incredible though.

Stock is best on this engine

Burble happens on mpe even when car doesnt have tune for it. It usually has a big pop when u rev it to redline a few times. Very very loud and much diff tone. If you have f8x m car id say buy this muffler but do so perhaps from a forum. Dealers charge way too much.

Is sport mode equivalent to M1/2 mode? Meaning does that automatically put the car in sport mode?

Akrapovic costs almost the same so why not go with Akra instead ? Isn't that better than MPE ?

Scott J. Parisi No you have to program it in the infotainment center. I have m1 set to all sport for me, and my wife uses m2 to drive in comfort when she drives the car.

M4 Comp uses the M Performance exhaust. The Blue M4 in the video is Comp model, which is why the badge is black on the rear and on the non comp the badge is chrome

No the exhausts are exactly the same. The engine maps are different. The engine map on the comp has burbles but the standard doesn’t. But you can always have the car tuned to add then to a standard car

The M Performance exhaust was an option. Made from titanium (possibly made by Akrapovic).

The Comp models come with sport Seats, sport exhaust, black exterior trim, and the 666m rims. Purchasing some of these for a base model would add up, and at that point you might aswell have bought a comp. So I’d recommend buying a comp 👍

Is your BMW completely stock or Do you have the competition package or performance package?

@@MJ3800 Completely stock. I figured that i can only get the crackles when the engine is cold. I guess i need the competition software to map the crackles in.

@@mainlycarthings3430 take it to exhaust/mod specialist garage. they can change the software to add bangs, pops (extra fuel surge) and obviously change parts of the exhaust.
