I drove the G80 and the G87 and decided on the G87, a lot of people say the G87 is pointless because it's the same car as the g80/82, it's very obvious that none of those people have driven them both. As you said here the G87 feels noticeably smaller and more nimble. It wasn't even a debate for me, the G87 is the more fun car

I was at bmw at the time this was in planning and trust my words, if you have the money, this is not only extreme fun and and a good package overall but since there will be slightly *different* engines in the cars in the future after this model, I assume it will also have a very stable price development as (one of) the last manual M available ever
Waiting for the 2026 M2 Xdrive! I usually prefer a 6MT probably because I’m not used to driving the 8 speed with paddle shifters but it will be faster shifting and will be something I’ll have to get used to because the 2026 will not be offered in a manual transmission. I did just buy a 2024 M340i rwd for my wife so I have time to practice.😅

I swear, every time BMW comes out with a new design I hate it... Then people customize their cars and I see more and more of the new designs and start to love it. This M2 definitely gives me E36 vibes a tad bit. Filling in the spot the 3 series always had as a compact, sports car.

Love this car and the comparison, had exactly the same feel with my choice between e82 and e92, the e82 is more nimble and snappy and go-kart feel, while the e92 is more car and bit bigger.
