It’s time for an almighty Britain vs Germany DRAG RACE!
Mat’s lining up in the Bentley Continental GT, and he’s alongside the awesome BMW M8 Competition!
Now on the face of it, you might think it’ll be a walkover for the Bentley. With a 6-litre twin-turbo W12 under the bonnet, the Continental GT can deliver 660hp and 900Nm of torque. In comparison, the M8 is equipped with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that’s ‘only’ good for 625hp and 750Nm.
However, there’s a key difference between the two. Whereas the BMW tips the scales at 1,900kg, the Bentley weighs in at 2,200kg! So the question is, will that weight difference prove decisive over the quarter-mile?

If you know how dual clutch gearboxes work this kickdown thing makes total sense. The car is assuming (because he’s not slowing down or braking) that the next shift will be up. All the best to everyone

I remember that TV show with three British old men with an Aston Martin, a Bentley and a BMW. In that case, the Bimmer was always the winner on wet, even though it wasn't the proper M8. I'm kinda surprised it managed to beat the Bentley almost every single time in dry and against a newer model. It just becomes ballistic!

I think the reason the BMW’s brake discs are glowing so much is because that specific BMW seems to be fitted with the optional Carbon-Ceramic Discs ($8,000-ish). You can tell because of the yellow calipers, they come with the carbon ceramic discs. It doesn’t really change the breaking distance but it massively prevents the brakes from overheating when breaking hard repeatedly (such as in a race track).

This brings up a good video series idea, take the top spec highest in it range model vs the best bang for the buck model or fastest 0-60 model and do your usually drag races with them. Example (BMW do an m8 competition vs M3 comp. Or m2)

BMW FTW. For 1/3rd the cost of a that GT Speed, you get equal performance. Obviously not as luxurious as the bentley, but considering the price difference, you could get a maybach s class with your spare change…

Sorry, that Bentley is the V8 with 550hp not the W12. It's easy to tell. The V8 has 4 exhaust pipes and the W12 has 2 large ovals

The facelifted M8 is even better from the front. It has a light up grill too which is extremely tasteful! I first saw one at night and it looked amazing; not tacky like the Mercedes light up emblem.

@@kokonut2473 🤣🤣 are you serious? Look at an a class, c class, e class, cls and an s class from the rear and Tell me which one is which. Same goes for the front really. All interiors are also the same. Mercedes has lost its charm a long time ago. BMW fucking sucks too with their designs and they're all butt ugly except for the 5 and 8 series but atleast they all look different.
