interned at bmw for 3 month, and i found, the most common leakage is the valve cover gasket and oil sump gasket, In addition, for N20 engines, the air/oil separator always clog up,so the engine oil can flow into the intake manifold, solution is to change the valve cover unit btw,the video is nice
Thanks for the videos! You helped me do my valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket. As well as lights that came on after the work that scared me lol. Thank you for giving me confidence in tearing my 3 series apart & saving me tons of money!
nice video very helpful, i have a 2005 530i and i am having problems with all my lights, from headlights to backup lights, it's like if the right headlight works then the left high beam does not the brake lights does the same. what can i look for to fix the problem?
I also work on Beemers and i only have one thing to add to all the great info is that i also get allot of oil leaking from the mating surface on the vacuum pump
That's the only oil leak I've had on my 6 series. The o rings were worn to hell since they're the originals that came with the car in 2006. But I've heard of people having to replace those seals every other year or so. I wonder if it's just bad bolts not clamping strong enough or is it normal to see that kind of wear and tear on these cars.
Thanks for the knowledgeable video. I have a valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket leaks. Are they hard to replace without a lift? Can you show me a video with oil pan leaks? Thank you
Thank you that was very descriptive. I had to replace the pan gasket on my bmw but it has a second leak so this really showed where these leak could be coming from. Thank you!
Thanks for this clip, @World Mechanics! Didn't know BMWs are having such common, yet, a serious problem. In awe as this has been known since Y2005 models. Sounds more like a scamming business 🤔. Was interested in getting one but this video has me think twice now.
So I’m tryna buy this bmw 5 series m3 2004 and the tire makes noise and has a engine oil leak.....it’s in good condition basically looks new and idk if it’s a buy or a rip off do you think I should buy?? Is the problems serious?? Someone help me...😣😣
Yammo, oil leaks in BMW is quite common even if it just has 30k miles. Most oil leaks are minor and sweat through time. If you see a drip on the floor than stay away. Most drips won’t register on the dipsticks.
Should i buy a 2014 Bmw 528xi. The owner om put 2,500 miles pet year on it in a 4 year time frame. She changed thr oil every 2 years The beamer just turned 50k miles. She is old ladu and drove it rarely.
I had an Audi A4 manual for 11 years, perfect car, never any problem. I bought a new 2015 BMW 535 ix GT M package, beautiful car but oil leaks after 47,000 km and since it was past 4 years there is no warranty. Terrible. I am moving to Mercedes Benz.
Any vehicle should have the oil changed and filter at no more then 3500 miles it don't hurt to change it more frequently your engine will like you longer just make sure you always have the proper amount and stick with the same viscosity oil weight each time your vehicle will like the treatment you show it
