I loved the 2nd jacket that was shipped to me, it was a perfect fit. It’s important to get the right fit in order to really get the best of it. I would highly recommend this jacket if you can afford it. Thanks BMW Motorrad
I have this suit and will be trying it in 30 40c this next week in Europe, I think the jacket needs less pockets What the fook do people need all them pockets for! But it needs side adjustment zips on the side so when your one the bike you can ease them off a little and also it lacks a two way front zipper! I will see how it performs.
@@jeffdean7666 BMW 2019 Rallye Jack I rode properly 7,000miles last year around the UK and Europe wearing this suit. For myself i made a change to the back protector i think its over the top as too thick but its made up in layers so i took 2 layers off and cut the bottom off about 50mm as it was turning in my back when seating on the bike.the jacket itself is good in hot weather but not as good airflow as you may think even with all the vents open ? But extremely comfy i like the leather rounded collar racing style collar that makes for nice feel around your neck in hot riding. the armour in my opinion on the shoulders and elbows would be better if it was like the Rukka Jackets a little bit bigger. Also it needs bottom side adjustment zips when seating on bike but does not have any! Also a 2 way front zipper would be great another improvement would be better cuffs as these are very baggy and do not have any inner cuff or a good way of synching them tighter they have velcro wraps which are pretty crap and somewhat annoying imo. But in general i do like the jacket its like everything it needs tweaking. When you have adjusted your armour straps and got the cuffs tight enough it handles high speeds both off road, road and on Motorways very well. I had a off on some bad wet downhill mud and gravel and also i span off on a hairpin on a race track and the armour both in the pants and the jacket stayed in place. Wet riding well what can i say first the jacket as you would expect is useless in the rain it soaks up fast, the jacket gortex over cover supplied is a great idea the only downside is of course you have to be either a perfect weather forecaster or very quick at getting it on it the wet. I practised this and its hard sometimes in windy rainy conditions to get it on before your wet but if you find shelter to cover up its ok. Don't be fooled by the adds that say its warm to ride with the jacket and the cover thats rubbish I rode yesterday 50 mile first ride after UK lockdown ( I soon found out I had put on a few pounds) lockdown belly LOL, and i had a T shirt then the jacket and the Cover on it was 11c and you felt like 2c it needs a god base layer Mid layer and then the jacket and cover to ride anything below 20c down to 8c. After that out come my Rukka Armas. The gortex cover also needs to have little more neck room its very hard to get the velcro to catch around the neck seems to be a bit mean with room around that area. But again the idea of just taking it off when it warms or drys up is good.It could do with some nice reflective lines on the forearms and a strip on the back.As when night riding it don't flash up at all. BMW 2019 Rallye Pants I do like these pants very well made at first the idea of having that rubbery feel in the inner legs lining was strange but when you get used to pulling it out in hotter weather or leaving it in in colder wet riding its ok. Again be prepared to get caught out riding then having to whip your pants down to your smalls at the side of the road ain't very practical so you need to be weather wise. I left the liners out most of the summer and took a pair of outer liners to cover up faster. The biggest improvement that needs to be done to the pants is the crutch area is not very tall from belly to bottom your balls is very tight. The good points are the feel of the pants whilst on the bike are good i like to move around when riding these pants allow you to do just that. Unlike my Rukka Cosmic pants that have the stupid rubber seating circle cushion Rukka are hell bent on fitting to their pants! I hate that thing with a passion. The ease of getting the pants on and over your boots is good the vents on the thighs are good and they wash easy. As to the secret pocket LOL waste of time imo.The leather inner thigh area does little to grip you even when standing on pegs but its ok when bedded in its part of the pants. So would i buy this suit again Well if i don't loose some of this lockdown/Isolation fat I may well have to in a bigger size. LOL
I have an embarrassing question. I was looking at some BMW apparel yesterday 20230803. My salesman, who is a great guy told me that the straps inside one of the jackets was for hanging on your shoulder or a hangar when the jacket got heavy. I wasn't entirely sure he wasn't pulling my leg. I thought they might be also used to keep the jacket more secure to the rider when they were crashing.
How does this compare to the Aerostich Darien jacket and pants? I've only had moderate luck with mine. The armor abrades the Gore liner and the water proofing invariably fails after 3 years.
Today is my lucky day, just bought brand new one on eBay for $495, they were asking $789 and I offered $495 30 minutes later they accepted my offer. man I still can’t believe it.
