Can you do this without your alignment tool ?? I want to clean everything like you showed but afraid to crack open as tool is over 500$ any video you made without tool maybe??
also, do you know if the rockers from the intake and from the vvt are changed to code 3, all of them the same, should this be fine and align correctly?
any idea how to identify what intake rocker arm an engine originally had? I got an n51, and my intake rocker arms have the code 2, while the VVT rockers have code 4, so i presume, as i got both codes on the intake rockers, that they were mixed. Is there any way to find out what tolerance my rocker arms had from factory?
They are very flexible , lube the journal up, lube bearings up Expand bearing below shaft and allow it to slip on to journal Old bearings are fragile and will break when you try to remove them
Hi The old ones are brittle and will break, the new ones are not as brittle, as they have not been in use. The new ones are more flexible. Just expand them enough to slid them on
good morning, I'm trying to rebuild my n51 engine (2007 328xi). I've gotten as far as my eccentric shaft. I'm not sure of the position it should be in before I put the overhead springs back on. Any advice would be very helpful! Thank you
@@tajnile5024 the shaft needs to be locked between the two stops while you perform installation. You only release and adjust when actuator motor is being installed
Drag rollers on intake side? If so you need to install them, install the tension spring, make sure spring tabs are locked into roller channel and the take a flat screw driver and align them straight from top You should hear a click as they get into alignment. Do all that first before rotation
