Out on a jolly with Dual Vlog goodness on 2 BMW Scramblers in London city. More written words to follow on 44teeth.com Much thankings to Barons Brother for the photos: / mattheweades
Just watched this as part of my lockdown ‘44 Teeth’ Binge Watch! Great Vid and although this was 3 years ago it has sort of changed my mind on the Triumph! This is the best Motorbike Channel on You Tube.👏👍
Excellent vid and I loved that bike when I took it out. Its a piece of art in my opinion. Its the kind of bike you put in your garage and its still with you in 50 years. It screams cool
Really refreshing to listen to a couple of 'darlings' ride and chat about the bike on the road, instead of taking it to a track and complain it would only do a 110mph in a straight line. You clearly enjoyed your day out
Some good points well made chaps, sometimes just riding a bike is about cruising along... that's why I love all different types of bikes, my blade for short sharp bursts and my GS for all other duties , if I could afford one of these as well I'd have one in a flash 👍
Another bike I now want! I've not ridden since 2009 when I was involved in an off but bikes like this and the new Triumph make me want to get back into it!
It's funny that these retros are considered "style" bikes. They emulate standards from yesteryear. I suppose they're stylish because they look like motorcycles i.e. individual components that are clean designs and can be seen without disassembling a pile of Tupperware. Many modern bikes are styled to death and end up looking like something from a child's cartoon. The modern ones that do dare to bare a glimpse at the engine leave it with massive coolers, radiators, and assorted plumbing that make it look like something that should be covered up with plastic.
I have a 2015 BMW RnineT classic and I Fucking love it. Its quite possibly the best city and all around bike. Its got plenty of power and torque when you need it and it so beautiful to look at. And the sound is awesome. Mine has a SC Project full system with a dual can, and it sounds bad ass. It feels light and nimble and very easy to ride, and I am 5'5" 150 lbs.
I test rode one of these bad boys a couple of weeks ago, found the back break really spungy. Baron we should have met for that pint while I worked in Clapham. love the way the engine shakes from side to side and low center of gravity...top heavy? got a meeting with Dutch next Tuesday.
Really good ‘review’ guys, I had an identical one before an a-piece road sweeper pulled out in front of me and wrote it off. You reminded me of why a I loved it, was going to have a change but will get hold of Das Bahnstormers and order a new one instead.
I'm digging all the new scramblers coming out from various manufacturers. I threw a leg over one of these last weekend and just couldn't get over how heavy the bike felt. The giant engine is just overkill for what is supposed to be a small nimble ride. "A little bit top heavy?" Lol that motor is a boat anchor on that thing. You'll rarely use all the power but you will feel the huge weight in every corner and at every stop. Ducati Scrambler is a better choice IMO or go for a Duke 690.
I cant even tell the difference between the r nine T and the scrambler. I thought they were the same until you started talking about it. I'll need to Google now 😁
Did you get to take these out of town? The reason I bout my R NineT (in racer guise) is because it's got the bottom and low end grunt as you mention but still builds power right up to the rev limit which makes it rewarding to rev out. Great engine and great bikes.
Lovely video chaps, loved it. Really like the look of the scrambler as a London ride. I hate to say it but I think you both actually look pretty damn cool too
I want to see what you guys think of the new Moto Guzzi and the Griso. Seeing you actually on this bike gives me a better idea of how big/small it is... makes me think that at 6'10 and all torso I might have a hope in hell of being comfortable on it. (I'm a big Guzzi fan though, especially with good exhaust, that 90 degree air cooled Vtwin)
hello Guys great video-review, because I have a nine T Pure and I'm obsessed from it I want to ask were I can buy that 90-t logo Helmet, it's awesome. Thanks
@44Teeth I have the option of purchasing the R9T Scrambler, R9T (test ridden already), and Triumph Thruxton 1200 (not the R, also test ridden already). Which of these would you guys prefer, assuming you have ridden them all, and why?
@44Teeth Guys, looking at Kriega backpack and your leathers - would you like to make a test of real life usage of an air vest with all the gear / backpack?
My jaw dropped at the price. It’s easy to see through you guys sometimes, these might be fun for a little ride like this, but there’s no way in hell either of you would want one permanently 😂
Lmao @ 1:35 where the badass bikers get shamed by the toddlers. I liked the sightseeing tour of London, even though we didn't really see anything. The entire video was just screaming for Harry Nilsson's 'My Best Friend'
Now I want to see you guys ride some proper old bikes from a proper old bike shop and compare experiences. Guaranteed it would be a laugh. I know your out of Surrey BVG. Hit up that place in Farnham. I bet they would show you the ropes.
7:12 I bet the food's a rip-off. Nice bike. And they are not top heavy. All the weight is in the engine which is low down. It needs a main stand to make checking the oil easy. Flat twin boxers use lots of it.
Okay so I have watched a ton of Great Britain moto videos (an American here) and I am not quite sure what the crooked lines are for 2:34. Are they to tell you that you are nearing and intersection??? We don't have those in the States.
here ya go mate, everything you could ever want to know www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/519129/know-your-traffic-signs.pdf
Some bikes sound like a bear or a lion, but that one sounds like a snorting hog messing around in the mud. Statham seems to really like the sound of it at least. It looks really cool, though. I saw one in a BMW dealership a couple of months back and it looks even better in the flesh.
