Sure compared to a Hayabusa that'll go 400km/h a GS going 225km/h doesn't compare... but lets be honest, even the 225km/h is almost 100km/h over the legal speed limit. So yeah I agree, the GS has plenty torque and more than enough HP!
Omg.. That's one insane bike.. I just booked it and have to wait for a few days to get hold of it. But I doubt if I will ever be able to speed in my country. 140 kmph.. If I am lucky
All 1250 BMWs will have the same top speed. There is a rev limiter in top gear 6, and that equates to about 240 kmph or 150 mph, if one wants to go to that speed on the road of course. If into track work, don't get a BMW boxer. As for me I am more than happy with my R1250R and watch the scenery go by.
Raced one on my Mt07 today. i was in a 2nd gr wheelie and he flew by me. I still caught up and was right on his tail then i let off bc Street racing is stupid. Quick for a big bike tho

Mate 2 completely different bikes, if you want a comfortable bike and make long journey go for Gsa1250. But in other hand if you don't care about comfort, and you appreciate sporty rides all in S1000rr.
I guess on the corner you have the GPS speed right? 225 is a bit sad, when my (semi tuned) old 2007 GS can do 219+ on GPS. I don't understand why BMW doesn't "free" the bike a bit more. It can handle a longer 6th gear easily. I had a bit more probably than 225 if there was space, but really... in 15 years they could have done better. Yes I know GS is not a race bike. There is the XR, the RR etc. Still it could easily go a bit more, just for the heck of it.
Lol, why they would do it? Nobody is stupid to buy an expensive GSA for max speed. By locking it, they keep it more durable, and that matters more to the brand. For max speed they have other bikes for the young kids who want that. It doesnt add anything to GSA to make it go +10kmh more, not a single thing.

@@Xfacehack but iy doesnt carry luagguage and doesnt offer any comfort righr? Not to mention wind protection... the gs is not made to go fast but still have a good top speed . Just cant compare sports bike vs adventure bikes
Muy lenta pareciera que no tuviera el torque que indincan yo por ej. Tengo una r1 2014 con menos torque claro q mas hp pero en torque solo 115.5 comparado con esta bmw con 140nm de torque y aun asi le cuesta llegar a 200 ala bmw creo q sobrevaloran mucho sus makinas. yo en mi r1 ando relajado a 250 puedo llegar a 200 solo en 5 a 6 segundos en solo 1ra llega a 160 por hora en 2 segundos entonces no entiendo porq esta moto si tiene mas torque le cuesta tanto llegar a 200 es un poco chistoso pero real bmw deja arto que decear yo tuve una 2011 r1200 gs y me fallo la 5ta muy mala
