BMW R1250GSA Forest Crash [4K] 

Thanks for uploading, videos like this helps everyone who ride ADV bikes off road to learn - I wish more people who video their rides off road would upload videos of their mistakes. I also own a BMW 1250 GSA HP. Absolutely love the machine both on and off road. The small whoop and transition from dirt to grass sent that front tire into a slide. Nice riding.

Thanks for sharing!.. my first recommendation would be STAND UP all the way when you run in places like this.. the 1250 is really good but the key is the stand up position.. cheers!

This is interesting.... We used to call this green-laning or "soft-roading". It is deceptively similar to road riding but with small, significant differences. Very easy to let the front end run away from you... I hope you had off-road rubber at nice, low pressure. An issue with current "adventure" bikes is that their sheer mass makes it hard to drop pressures too far. A land whale will respond very differently to a small difference. They are also hard to ride out of the saddle unless you are Gaston Rahier or Hubert Auriol. In my day, we did this sort of thing on a DR400 or an XT550 and even that was hard enough. Better by far is a nice, light 250 enduro bike. You will enjoy it more, it costs less to fix, costs less to maintain, you will crash less often and you will learn a great deal very quickly. Keep the "adventure" bike for stories in the café and for posing. You may think the above advice is bullshit. Very soon you will agree.

People underestimate the power of letting off the throttle. You can see the earth torn up in the video from heavy wheel spin, causing fish tail that you can regulate with throttle input and turning towards fish tail. Better luck next time and try leaving the TCS on a more intrusive setting.

When you ride a motorcycle like this on the dirt, you have to asume that, sooner o later you and it will fall down. This kind of bikes are the best thing that has happened to the protect gadgets makers and shops.

Slow down is my recommendation until you’re got the skill to be crazy

Thanks for sharing yes I learn thanks to sharing buddies on their mistakes. But honestly why you ride like you were on the tarmac? Off road changes a lot from place to place, way much more variables to absorb and be ready for, it is not race track, I don’t see the rush to go quick there, for that there is race track. Happy you are ok.

That bike is a big bushpig that leaves no room for error. Good luck.

Remember to loose the throttle handle while braking! Several people have done this mistake, me included, scaring. Nice bike:-)

I had a GS 1150 ADV and dropped it quite a few times on wet mud. I don’t know if it was the weight or the telelever suspension but the front end just didn’t give any feedback about the amount of grip available, first you knew you had a problem was when the front end tucked under just like in this video.

Looks like those crash bars are touching the plastic and cylinder head ? If they are its kinda disappointing that those reinforcement bar didn’t make a difference.😮

Good video, as said already, if he was on the pegs I bet he would have rode that out. He could respond to the slipping of the bike by moving his centre of mass over the wheels, thus increase traction, and ride it out. I'm no pro but that's my take.

I have a 2018 GSA Rallye ADV it would break my heart to drop it..
