As always I enjoy your videos immensely. Given how much you ride and where you ride I believe your opinion is very credible. Thank you. I hope you continue to post content. Mike from Minnesota.

An incredible bike. But. So complex. So expensive. If BMW could make an R80gs as per the original, emissions compliant, at the same weight, it would rule the middleweight market. Light is right. Ride safe and happy travels 👍

Would the r ninet urban gs fit that bracket??
@teneretraveller8980
@teneretraveller8980 10 месяцев назад
@@butlersg1 just my opinion, but no. Too big, too heavy. The r80 regularly went off road. I don't recall seeing an R9T being used like that. There is a reason people are buying Teneres 500x's Himalayans, etc. Light is right, I think.

Finally a GS I might actually buy, as my KTM is coming up on 3 years old.

Good luck with your decision. You can't go wrong with the GS 🙂

Lot's of new bikes - but as I get older I tend to be quite happy with what I have. It suits me. And the budget (which seems to be eaten up by new camera gear instead LOL)
@thetubelesschannel

Yes camera gear is not cheap either 🙂

Endelig - Sven is back ❗❗😀😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Ye - almost everyone describes this bike as a very nice one. Luckily, I don't consider it at all, and not going to try it...., which again means - you did it, so we don't have to ☝☝😃

Good review - thanks. But just like so many reviewers, you never mentioned about the luggage - i.e. panniers and topbox. It seems that the new model (1300) will have totally new luggage (looks plastic ??) and not be able to adapt to mount the more robust aluminium type luggage from the 1250 or 1200 models. This is a very important issue for most GS/GSA owners and the cost of having to purchase the new BMW luggage would ad a huge amount to the already ridiculous cost of trading-in your older model.

@thetubelesschannel 10 месяцев назад
Thanks for your feedback. You have a good point. Im not a big fan of side loaded cases either. Top loading is better like the aluminium boxes. And I don't like the weight of the vario cases. I like the top box though. I would not spec my bike with the vario side cases. Only the top box maybe. There will hopefully be some lighter weight side cases available from third party after a while. Cheers from Norway !

Hello from Ireland and thanks for the reply, Sven. I've watched loads of reviews on the new 1300 but not one mentioned the luggage. BMW are smart in that regard as, when they bring out a new model, they usually change it in such a way that the older luggage is not compatible (e.g. put exhaust on the other side) so people have to pay out even more money.

Maybe you should try a Moto Guzzi V85 TT. It‘s pretty much underrated and real fun to drive…

@JoeS97756
@JoeS97756 10 месяцев назад
@@thetubelesschannel Can you elaborate on what is smaller?
@thetubelesschannel
@thetubelesschannel 10 месяцев назад
@@JoeS97756 as I say in the video the bike looks narrower/slimmer when you are sitting on it. I didn't measure but the distance between the cylinder covers on left and right side looks less than the old model. Between outside of handlebars there is a small increase. But that is the overall width. The length is about same, more compact engine as the gearbox is placed below but longer swing arm. The tank is 1 liter less and slimmer.

Great video. thanks. Some feedback. I found it difficult to understand what you were saying. You have a strong accent and your voice audio was low in comparison to the background noise when you were riding. Understand you cannot change your accent so a higher voice audio high relative to the surrounding sound would be great. Thanks.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes I had to balance audio from bike an my voice. I may do some translation 🙂

Norway is a lovely country but alas the new "GS" looks as rubbish there as it does here in UK ( ie small and cheap and ugly - no matter how well it goes ) 😮
@thetubelesschannel
@thetubelesschannel 10 месяцев назад
Thanks a lot for your comment about Norway. When it comes to the new GS there is a split opinion. But cheap is it not 😮 I have to save for some time to afford it....if I wants it. I love my 2018.
