It is a joy watching someone restore a motorcycle to new or better than new condition. I'd like to know all your methods for restoring all the parts. Like the cleaning, surface prep, finishes, painting, etc. What your doing takes much knowledge and skill. You know more than the OCC boys do. Very nice work, and the best to you.
put 43,000 miles on a 73 blue toaster tank. Traded in for a 77 100S. Both were best bikes I ever owned.(except for weak front brake on 73) 73 was the most comfortable tourer I ever owned!! Miss em both! BEAUTIFUL restoration!!!
Lovely job. I had a 1972 R75/5 and loved it, especially on long trips. Comfortable and effortless mile munching. Definitely a classic. Thanks for sharing this rebuild 👌👍
I fell in love with these BM's when I first saw them in magazines like Cycle World and Two Wheels in the early 70's. What I would give to have one like this...better than new! Brilliant work as always sir...you are the Maestro of Motorcycles.
A pleasure Carlo 😊. I have started the restoration of a nice 1972 Laverda SF 750 and I am sure you will like it too. Thanks for watching my channel. Kind regards and stay safe. Loscar✌🙏😷
Awesome job, down to the details. I loved the plates and stckers as if the bike was serviced at a proper BMW facility. I didn't know there were so many press fitted parts and specialty tools needed. Also, It would be nice if you could merge all chapters into one. I know it might be a bit longer but would make it much easier to share it. Another great restoration, cheers!!
Beautiful, maybe one day l will do mine up. owned her for 30 odd yrs and still she goes. Definitely does not look this good. She has been ridden long and solid for many yrs. l call her Faith, most faithful bike out of all of mine.
Genial Maestro quedo espectacular la BMW un lujo los videos muy bien musicalizados y un final para aplaudir de pie. Felicitaciones y saludos desde Argentina.
That a rare tank! I rode BMW from 74 to 92 never saw that tank did see /2 with compartments but never a /5............ The metal spark plug caps will short out the spark in a good rain, you won't find them on bikes that were driven had. I put 114,000 miles on my R75/6 it was still going strong when I sold her I new people with well over 200,000 on /5 and /6's............ I had a 81 R 100 RS and a K 75 C with a /7 RS fairing a nice combination
Thank you so much for all the great uploads that you do. The quality of your work is amazing. I look forward to all of your uploads. I do have a question about the BMW restoration tho. Would you be able to give me an idea of the hours that you have put into the BMW ?. Thank you once again from a big fan in Australia.
Technically the 4th gear on the /5 and the 5th gear on the /6 is the same ratio. You'd need to add a 5spd trans AND change to a taller final drive to take advantage of it. But yes. I have a /5 and a r100gs so I'm use to the high revs. The engines will happily do it all day.
Excellent work!!!. Have a question: I own a 1975 R75/5 toaster. The indicator on the left side of the headlight is amber but I see some models have a green indicator. If you (or anyone) can shine a light on that, which color would be the appropriate one?? thanks a lot.
Hola Mario: Siempre he visto el indicador de intermitentes del faro en color ámbar. Que sea de color verde, tampoco tiene mayor importancia pero no lo he visto nunca. Gracias por ver mis videos. Un saludo Loscar.
Friend Arthur. Yes, only those two screws with silentblock. In the front it has an open support against a rubber. Remove the two nuts and pull up hard and the reservoir will pop out. Enjoy doing it yourself.😉 Best wishes. Loscar 👍✌
