We all think of show cars with air-suspension, wide wheels and wide-body kits as being more about looks than performance. But Bingo's E93 convertible is definitely breaking the mould and offers a healthy 450bhp to match it's killer looks. We were actually allowed take this machine on the road to test it out and were pretty impressed! Annnnd some burnouts...

Yea I've never understood why the N54 and N55 variants haven't been used more often in drifting and other performance applications. Especially the N54. It's out there in mass numbers and is known for it's ability to hold big power without doing the internals or even the head. They're fairly cheap if you watch for one and really the only draw backs are the parts around them like the water pump. But there's great after market fixes for all of it so.....?????

As someone with a couple N54s in the rotation I can tell you there are a lot of after market tuning options for them as far as a reasonably modern BMW goes but it can be discouraging how often you'll have stupid things you wouldn't expect blow up on them. It's one of those platforms where it's best to buy 2 cars and have 1 on the lift and 1 on the road at any given time.

It’s pretty tough to keep the temps down under constant load. 2-3-4 straight line pull, no issue. But drifting or time-attack, is a lot more stress on the engine and even with large oil coolers and upgraded radiators, they’ll still overheat.

Theres a youtuber with a 950whp 335i. It’s cool because it’s stock longblock, stock cams, stock plastic intake, 45psi, stock ecu, stock trans. Lasted for a few years too, until he fully built it. Crazy.

@@svenlow7077 its more opposite. N54 are know as modern 2jz and definately one most known engine of bmw. Especially whent it comes to tuning.

My boss has a 335i e92 running over 600hp on 99 octane and 700hp on race fuel. He sells upgraded fuel pumps for them too. The N54 and N55 although bit weaker and very strong and tunable, the drivetrain in these is also quite strong too.
