As a customer for the E36 kit, I am not sure that I was overly impressed with the experience that I thought I was buying. If the door cards are always in such shape, why could Bavsound not sell us or at least recommend the additional E2000 to do the job right? I found it frustrating that I got all set-up and into this project only to find that I did not have the materials on hand to do the job right. Now I have a car half taken apart and I need to go to the store? I was not amused with the video flying through the kick speakers. The host mentioned any E36 owner getting into that area before, I guess that does not include me. I found the area a real struggle, even though its very simple in hindsight. In the drivers side, my 1998 panel above the pedals is not at all like the panel removed in the video. I never did figure out how to remove mine, I simple had to work around it. It worked, but it sure did not feel like the correct way. Our interiors are fragile, we need to treat them with the best care.

yeah, the kit is DIY..... they made this video as a courtesy to show you what to do. if you cant figure it out, leave it to people who know what theyre doing and pay them as such.

If you can't do the job, pay a professional to do it. They sell speakers, and have attempted to help you; however, their job isn't to fix your cars faults.

In the title it says 99-05 ( e46) but the car is a 95 e36. just so you know :)

I was told by the guy at the local stereo shop that 5 1/2” speakers would fit in my rear deck, does anyone know if this will work? Also he said the 1/2” tweeters would fit but I came to find out it’s 5/8” tweeters for my 95 325is bmw. Please help!

The rear speakers for this BavSound system are 6x9”, but they come with a specially molded mount that will let you screw then in place where the original speakers were attached. There is enough space for them to fit, t the rear deck opening is not 6x9”, nor are the mounting holes located for 6x9” speakers. But the mounts make 6x9” speakers work in the rear of the E36. I have a 1995 M3 coupe, and your 325is coupe should be similar. As far as the tweeters go, the BavSound tweeters are much smaller than the door mounts, so they come with adapters to make them fit in the standard door mounts.

I know the kick panel speakers are dual voice coil, i tried replacing them with infinity speakers that aren't dvc and it doesn't not work as it's sound is clipping. I dunno if i have to replace head unit, i did replaced the stock amp with hk amp and it still clipping. Can you let me know what i'm doing wrong, as i want to use these 5 1/4 infinity speakers since i bought them already. thanks

My midrange speakers didn’t come with the adapter harness to plug in to car harness. And the tweeters don’t fit in the original housing. There’s nothing to hold the tweeter into the housing. Actually really disappointed considering the cost of the whole kit

It should be very similar. The rear speakers you have to access via the trunk after removing the screws, clips, and wire from the top of the speakers.

I am in the process of putting this speaker system in my 1995 M3. BavSound says that they don’t support it in the 1995 because the wiring may not work properly. Well, my M3 has a 10/94 build date, and it has the10 speaker standard HiFi system ( not Harmon Kardon), and the BavSound speakers all plug in perfectly, and they work. So, if you have the 10-speaker standard audio system, and a 10/94 or later build date, this would probably work for your car as well.

Appreciate the effort making the video but dang, don't just use your first take. You come across and bothered by having to do the video. You install your tweeter two different ways in you video. Gluing the first one in on one and not doing it on the other..Also, no mention of which wire on the front woofer is positive and which is negative. Oh and the camera work looks like a child filmed it.

You don’t need to worry about polarity for the kick panel speakers because the two speaker tabs are different sizes, so the lugs on the factory wires will only attach to the correct tab on the speaker. All of the other speakers have connectors that match the factory connectors, and are keyed to only connect one way. So, you cannot mis-wire these speakers.

Cheap camera maybe. Phone? But anyways, this video is a bit useful for me. Im doing same job but i just use different brand (Hertz) for my doors. They have tweeter already on them. Kinda 2 in 1. Im not audiophile. The original speakers and tweeters are broken. One works but makes terrible sound and the midrange are gone also. So i just bought set of 2 coaxial speakers and they will go in..

My driver side was totally missing it's speakers, so there are no housings or covers. Anyone got a clue where I could buy them? eBay is outrageously priced

The BavSound rear speakers have connectors that plug right into the factory wiring. One thing he doesn’t mention (or show) is that the BavSound speakers have very long wires, and the special speaker mounts have tabs in them to wrap and hold the extra wire so the connectors can be positioned close to the factory wiring connectors in front of the speakers, not on the back (inside the trunk).
