on the rear wheel,(8.5 J ET50 )-> the tire must be changed to 225, so we gain 1 centimeter inside and outside, with this the rim can come out by + 1 centimeter, instead of 15 mm spacers, 20 mm spacers(max 25) can be put on.( ET 50+20 mm spacers= ET30 / 8.5J with 225/45r17 tire.= perfect. front 15 mm spacers and 205/50r17 tire

I've always liked these wheels, and I have an e28 (stock offset +20), so I have the unenviable task of trying to find four rear winter pkg. M3 wheels (+25). I think I've already given up.

With your computations, So the non m e46 could handle an 18x9.5 with an offset of 32 in the rear then 18x9 with offset of 35 upfront?

both 8.5 and 7.5j had 225/45 tires on them? is it safe to drive? cause i think bmw recommends 245/40 on 8.5j. Im asking cause i bought new tires which are all 225/45/17 and now i bought a new car which have style 68 wheels and im kinda scared to put them in, when bmw says it should be 245. Sorry for mess but im scared driving rwd with shitty setup.

Is the offset ET13 more concave then ET15?

The more positive the offset (higher number), the closer the wheel center will be to the outside lip (the offset can be high enough that the center of the wheel is outside the outside lip). 2mm will not be noticeable on a car without measuring the wheel.
