Thanks for the pointers. My pump was actually fine but your guide helped me figure it out. I took the bottle out and found there was a goopy almost fibrous sludge in the bottom blocking the filter. I guess 20 years of different fluids and bacteria would do that. Cleaned the bottle with hot water and floor cleaner and then cleaned the filter mesh with some contact cleaner. Now working 100%. Gotta love the E46, so easy to work on!
Man I can’t thank you enough for uploading this video. My washer pump decided to give up the goast 2 days before a long road trip and I didnt have time to order a new one… thanks to your video I got it working again. Tip: put the components in baking soda and vinegar to dissolve the corrosion. Cheers
I couldn’t belive how bad it was! It works just fine now! I had to improvise for the bottom seal as it was leaking but other than that you helped getting the pump out and that was the main problem.Thank you!
thanks it worked , mine was so rusty. did it for both motors and broke some of the plastic / dented it quite a bit so duct taped it hoping theres minimal water ingress
You can dry it out with heat gun / blow dryer . Hold the motor an spin the shaft to make sure it spins may have to use pliers if it doesn’t want to move freely. Once you get it to move plug it in to your car and pull the washer fluid stick. If it spins let it spin for a while and work any corrosion off.. if none of that works in the motor is locked up bad it has two metal tabs where the black plastic meets the metal you can fold those up separate the two and clean it out the inside with sand cloth it will foresure be corroded if the shaft would not move. Thanks for watching
I can hear min spinning but it just seams to be doing nothing, it barely worked so I took it off and rinsed it and now I can hear it but nothing, any suggestions? Thankyou for your reply 👍🏻
@@JRH087 When it’s spinning is the little white pump blade on the bottom turning that’s what turns and allows it to pump the fluid out of the other hole
All good now Chad thankyou for your help it turned out my bottle was FULL of algae so I took it off filled it with hot water and denture cleaning tablets (about 4) left it an hour or two, shook it right up, poured it out and repeated like 3 times also got a baby bottle brush in there so now it's spotless and my washers almost spray onto my car roof now! 😁👍🏻
