I have the '14 sDrive (no M package), and I am very curious how difficult it was to do the exhaust. In your opinion is this something my local muffler shop could do?
A local muffler, YES/NO (HRS) I use my factory muffler as a mock up, that means i had to gut it out and re channel two outlets, then i had to fabricate a 2" pipe towards the right side. I took some work. If I had access to a pipe bender machine, I've could have made it better, I'm working on a new muffler design from magna flow that is small enough to fit under the X1 and allow dual side outlets. the only fabricated work that i had to do that a muffler shop would not do is weld a bracket under the right side of the truck in order to hang the right side of the pipe/exhaust tips. some trunk pieces have to be removed in order to reach and to weld safely . hit me up on the x1 forum sit, i can post my specs name: mmacx1
Marc Elman Dinan tronics is worth it, and correction, there is a small black box that goes in the engine bay I ran a 330i, got him off the line and stayed half a car in front. Drive it calmly and you'll still get 28mpgs I'm getting 31 on the HWY holding 70mph. The kick down is fun when you step on it. very good torque!! I just wish the X1 was 300 -400lbs. lighter
@@paulm7753 can you explain this mod in detail? this brings it to ~ 300hp right? I'm interested. Is it all plug and play, can it be removed if servicing is required at the stealership? more info the better. Nice work. Looks super fast.
