Just purchased one of these with the 2.0d engine - very happy indeed. Had a 3 series before with similar engine the X3 handles almost as well and rides better.
Although I drove a 320d GT 4 years ago, and although I'm a huge fan of the BMW diesel engines, I am not a fan of BMW design and brand The interior still looks like 30 years ago, despite the digital speed cluster. Pro's: - build quality (everything is very well put together, no rattling, quality feel, reliability, ... ) - engine (performs franticly, gives power when you need it, ...) - room (VERY spacious, even in the back. Generally a small trunk) - steering (very direct and accurate) - lots of standard options and cheap in additional options compared to its direct competitors (Mercedes, Audi) Con's: - interior (still looks the same like 30 years, outdated and not a fun/pleasant place to be) - seating in the back (although you have a massive amount of room, the seating is VERY straight and seats offer little comfort) - trunk space (usually the smallest in its class) Personally: - hate the automatic and start/stop function - unless you get the sport seats, they are not comfortable for long rides - certain models have a floating/dancing feel on the highway without the sport suspencion
Interesting, that is a matter of personal preference. I like interior and went with semi digital cockpit instead new full LCD screen cockpit. In comparison I didn't like glc interior as it seemed to me too flashy. It's good we have a choice, for now, as I guess at one moment all interiors will look like space cabins, which I don't like.
