Just brought my 2001 Z3 3.0i manual (my default pic) about 2 weeks ago. Waiting on some Maxpeeding Rods coilovers with adjustable damping, ride height, and camber plates for under $400. The OEM suspension is shot to hell so I told myself these Maxpeeding Rods coilovers can't be any worst than what's on there, plus I'm not trying to turn it into a track beast. My goal for my Z3 is "Luxury Sport." At the very most, I may add a supercharger kit like 4 years down the road, but other than that, a tune, and wider tires and wheels, that's about all I plan on doing to it. Your Z3 is in great condition by the way. These cars are going to shoot up in value, so I'm glad we have ours before they skyrocket. The more people realize that the Z3 is a better choice than the Miata, the more prices will start to go up. With the Z3 you can have your cake and eat it too. You can tune it, tastefully modify it, and still impress a woman on a date night. Women would much rather hop into a BMW Z3 Roadster over a Miata. 😂 💯💯 Great video btw, subbed 😎
Man I bet that 3.0 is a rocket. I'm really enjoying the 2.5L. It has plenty of torque and revs silky smooth all the way to 6500. My shocks are a little floaty and too soft, but I don't want to go any stiffer than stock. I'm not autoxing or doing anything crazy. I'm surprised with how much Miatas have gone up. Makes the Z3 a compelling value. You get so much more car for the same money, and parts are surprisingly cheap. I probably won't buy another Miata anytime soon, but won't forget taking my baby boy in his infant car seat. Beside me in my 92 Miata while I burn donuts in the local community college parking lot..LOL I should have been arrested
@@junbox618 lol, right, and yeah the car feels way more premium than the Miata IMO. Every time I hit the road in the Z3 6 out 10 people turn their head and look. So after all these years the car is still a head turner even with factory wheels etc I can't imagine the attention I will get after I slap 285's on the rear and lower it about a inch lol 😎. And yes, the 3.0 gets up to speed before you realize it. It's certainly not a slouch. I did order engine mount reinforcement plates and rear subframe reinforcement plates because I heard those are weak points on the chassis. But yeah man, Im not selling this car anytime soon if ever. It's a timeless design that still turns heads and it's so much fun to drive. I know I won't find a car that gives me this much bang for my buck! 😎💯
@@jay_z3 hahaha, yea the subframe issue scared me away from buying an M Coupe many years ago. I wonder how my life would have been different had I bought the M Coupe instead of the S2000. LOL. It's absolutely fun to drive. Man, if you're on original motor mounts, swap them out. It made a HUGE difference for me.

I just made sure my mechanic took off the top hats on the front ones and greased down the nut and the threads, and i sprayed down the threads with Boeshield T9 on the very bottom of the assembly where you adjust the ride height. Doing those couple of things pretty much makes them just as good as any high end coilover. 👌🏽😎
