These two special Z3 M-Roadsters are great examples of what EAG does every day with our fellow Enthusiast clients. We have two of the nicest examples of each drivetrain and we note not only the power differences, but all the small subtle changes throughout the production life cycle many enthusiasts have never noticed before. The amount of parallels these two cars share didn't really become fully realized until we shot this video!

Also what was the suspension setup you used? Any spacers? I really like the way they sit

The best and lovely motor is in the European s50 with 321hp, you can see the 6 cylinders ! really beautiful !

Are there any issues with either engine variants and if so which would be the better preowned purchase option?

S52 is definitely more reliable than s54 thanks to a little more simplicity

I’ve always preferred the creamy, torquey smoothness of the S52 over the gritty, metallic yowl of the S54. The latter is a true ’M’ engine but I’ve never liked it. The first time I drove an e46 M3 in 2001 I thought it sounded meh with thin low end response. I still do 18 years later. Don’t get me wrong. The S54 is a FANTASTIC engine. I’m just speaking of sound and torque curve in normal driving around town. Completely different animal when you have room to stretch it’s legs.

all wrong www.langracing.com/building-bmw-engines-for-club-racing-competition-and-power-to-weight-ratio-classes/ s54 makes more torque at everywhere and is the curve is flatter.

The stance on the Z's look great. Where spacers used to make the tires flush and what was used to lower the car? And one final question, what are the biggest size tires i can put on my Z S52 with stock suspension.

I had 295 on mine. But I was told that 285 would have been the safest choice. It looked amazing!

I had a 2000 titanium silver one that was super sweet.A old lady ran the stop sign and totalled it.

S54 M Roadster stock for stock is better in every way aside from Maintenance Cost. S50B32 vs S54B32 however, although the S54 is faster the S50 has the 'raw' experience advantage.

Deathrow One Seven Four Good point. The only difference is that the S54 is 75 hp more, but it’s a maintenance nightmare. Commenting from experience. The s52 is way more reliable. Both are just as fun to drive. I would go with the S52 with the upgraded diff.👌

S50b32 is only 4 hp less, but much better sound then s54

@@mruniversumdasbinich8713 The difference is with how raw the Throttle response is with the S50B32. But in other aspects, the S54 is a much better engine with more potential. Really need a CSL intake and MAP sensor though.
