BMW is presenting the BMW Z4 Concept Touring Coupe at the opening of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2023.
The hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind BMW Z4 Concept Touring Coupe unites a body concept steeped in tradition with the technology of a purist modern-day sports car. Its proportions and name are reminiscent of the BMW 328 Touring Coupé that won the Mille Miglia endurance race back in 1940. The functionality of the shooting-brake concept is a nod to the BMW 02 Series model variants of the early 1970s, which featured “Touring” in their name to distinguish them from sedans. The styling of the signets on the rear and inside this unique vehicle was inspired by the model inscription of this historic predecessor. The BMW Concept Touring Coupé is powered by the brand's hallmark six-cylinder in-line engine, with performance characteristics and refinement that confirm its status as a symbol of pure, unadulterated Sheer Driving Pleasure.

I always thought the unusable second row seats on coupes were so unnecessary. Why have that when you could just have a bigger boot and have a nice, fun, fast and sporty car to travel comfortably with your partner. Love this concept, perfect for friends/couples with no kids. Could even use as a daily. Hope it goes on

That’s a good looking z3ish shooting break with better visibility. The headlights have a Mercedes Benz air about them and the classic round kidney grills still look better than the new awkward trapezoidal designs that bmw has been putting out recently.

Кайф, чё! Были такие давно и в штатах, купе универсалы. Никому не нужный на рынке кузов. Вообще читал что Мерседес перестанут выпускать ц и е сараи ближайшие пару лет, спрос даже в Европе на универсалы стал меньше. Спасибо БМВ, хоть за одноразовую сборку такого чуда))

Many years ago there was a 72 MGB GT in my life. Loved that underpowered car with all of its foibles. This is a stunning design, based on a proved drivetrain with modern amenities and handling. The concept car reminds me of the Lusso, but this would be attainable and maintainable. Well done BMW. Don't know anyone else who would have done it.

WTH is BMW doing? They do the "clown shoe" concept once again, but the Z4 is very badly marketed. They are currently marketing that car to post midlife crisis executives and the sort, who will go for the Mercedes cabriolet, or the convertible 992 instead. It makes more sense to do a Manual M version for the real enthusiast.

Why has BMW chosen to build ugly ungainly looking cars? From the incredibly lithe E3 to gorgeous E30, the svelte E36, magnificent E39 then the era of bubble Butt from Bangle and now this a car to mount a grille on.
